You get... something, for free, when you upload raw data

Well, it's free, so I won't mention the bugs.
You upload your raw data from My Heritage or others and you get something.
Do you get what you want? Probably not. You probably need to pay for the things you want.
But you get some cool stuff. A second opinion on what your ancestry is...and it might be wildly different than the initial result.
And you get Traits. Which are...cool, but so damn useless! Maybe the paid version has things that actually help.
one thing about Traits: You need a masters degree to understand the double negations and what not. Who the hell wrote those explainations? "You tend to have a lower caffeine metabolite ratio in blood" What does that mean? Don't worry, you have a longer explaination that makes even less sense. And later you get"You tend to drink less coffee" . Oh! Easy. Just say it plainly.
Others: You tend to have smaller boobs. Well. I should hope so, I'm a man.
Or the psychological ones: you are likely a people person. Well...guess what. The environment has an opinion about that. Maybe I do, but my environment didn't agree with the DNA. So I'm not. Now if I say "no" I will affect your data, but it would be false. Because I do have a natural tendency as you claim, but I don't act on it. So you should offer an option to respond with "Yes, but..." to differentiate between DNA traits and environment.
Oh, and of course" you tend to have more/less beta-amilase/vitamin B/iron..." Do you actually expect people to know if they tend to have that? How often do you test for beta-amilase? I tested for Iron levels maybe 3 times in my life, when I was a kid. I deffinitely don't know what the tendency is.
So yeah, a cool tool, but not useful at all in the free version. Which would makes sense, as they want you to pay. But they don't give you a taste of anything yummy, to hook you in.

Review of Mitie

Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Great if you need a job. Good for energetic extroverts, not great for hard working quiet people

Great if you need a job. Bad if you want to achieve anything by putting in work, effort, sweat and blood, or if you want to learn anything.
I work for Mitie now and used to work before in another place. All is the same: there are 2-3 people that are really good at what they do. And 40-50 clueless ones. Make sure you try to become friends with one of those 2 or 3 that really know what they are doing, so that they will hopefully teach you something, and support you to get a position, an apprenticeship or costly training.
The hiring process is mixed, some come recommended, some are hired based on the interview and CV. I was hired both times without knowing anyone there, so at least on this chapter they are clean.
Yet, a few months into the job, most people abandon hope, after trying hard to achieve something, to improve a process, or learn something, and meeting tough resistance.
There is no objective way of measuring who deserves a promotion and those 2-3 capable people can't divide their attention onto everyone else and teach them, help them, push them, even if they try, since they are busy working as if there is no tomorrow. Middle management it the workhorse of this company. Like in most other companies.
Yet if there is one thing that makes Mitie lose their stars, is the lack of communication. People don't know how to talk, and nobody is teaching them how to. Teams don't communicate between them, often one team cannot do a job because of another, friction arises, frustration, therefore even more lack of communication, and so on.
I currently don't even have an SOP. I started writing one myself and was told off. Not really sure what my job implies. I do whatever comes my way, managers just throw things at me. I try. If I can't do it, I ask around. If nobody can show me how it's done once, then I send it back.
The team leader got the job 2 months ago, leading people with 3-4 years of experience. We tell him what to do, how to do it...

But in the end, money comes into my pocket every month. I just don't expect to ever become the capable professional I want to be, thanks to Mitie. I want to learn a lot more, and do a lot more, make processes more efficient, save money while empowering people. Most people actually want to do more, if it makes sense to them to do it, rather than follow some idiotic system that they hate. But who will listen? Colleagues from different teams won't even stop to say hello. There is a lot of price placed on the individual, and little on the position they occupy, unless that position is a position of power.
A cleaner should be respected just as much as an engineer, because first and foremost, they are a colleague. And I don't see this happening anytime soon in Mitie. Communication lags behind everything else in Mitie.

Review of Monzo

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Consider me a fanboy

Consider me a fanboy. I pay for the blue card initially because I hate pink. But then I discovered the benefits. It not only pays for itself, it is making money for me. Great rates (4.83% ISA next day withdrawal) awesome credit system (4 months no interest), credit score guidance, perfect for traveling abroad, etc. Some other stuff I never use. I wish they had life insurance. I trust them so much, I would buy anything they sell at this point. Customer service is 8/10, used to be 10/10. App is fast, responsive, easy to use, processes are easy yet secure, salary paid in advance. Instead of silly 5% rewards they should add life insurance. The way they use this platform to allow other banks like Paragon or OakNorth to reach customers, they should make a partnership with AIG or some smaller insurance company. Then health insurance. Then others, and other. Monzo could be a platform for everything -money-, pay your bills, save up, manage your credit(s), obtain a mortgage, etc.
Monzo knows the customers. The customer knows Monzo. Easy.

Review of St John Ambulance (England) - Training courses

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

It's worth it

Although modern, with a great, experienced and capable teacher, the course still starts old-school style, with introduction... 45 minutes or so of nothing. Write that stuff in the booklet and start with the important bit. Ain't nobody gonna read 7 laws. List them on a card and move on. If anyone is interested, they can search for that.
Without those 45 minutes, 5 stars. The teacher was awesome, former ambulance medic, and so in control of us naughty adult kids.

Review of Gerrards Bullion

They tick every box

One of the few companies to allow credit card payment, AND I didn't see any extra charge for it. For me it is ideal, as I want to increase my credit limit and build credit score.
Unfortunately they won't deliver to a work address or allow collection if an online payment is done, but that is due to compliance, not their fault.
The price is also very good!
The service was clear, fast, helpful. A bit of confusion at some point but it happens, I understand.
I hope to have enough money to buy more from them :)

Review of See Tickets by Eventim

Paid £250, been taken thru 4 apps, still no tickets

I paid £250 for 4 tickets, on Firefox Browser.
I got an email to confirm on Outlook, and a link to another app,OvoArena . Downloaded the app, registered, just to be taken to another app, AXS. Again I registered. It's been a few hours and there's still no tickets in any of these apps.
Now, normally, whenever I buy tickets to anything, they are sent in the confirmation email, in 5 seconds or so. Reading thru the terms and condition, turns out these tickets might show up 130 days from today.
I bought 4 tickets, 3 for friends. Without actual tickets, how can I possibly tell anyone "Hey, take a day off from work because I might have tickets to the best concert that you always wanted to go to..but don't get too excited because I have no means to prove to you that I actually have a ticket, or what seats we've got, can't even say if we're seated next to eachother or just spread around the 15.000 people arena"
Just make it simple or don't do it at all! Why the need for 4 separate apps just to see some tickets?

Reply from See Tickets by Eventim

It is the event organisers decision as to what type of ticketing is available for an event and they have opted to use the venues app on this occasion. I can see that your booking confirmation including your seating allocation was sent to you with in 5 minutes of purchase. I have re-sent this to you again today along with further information on how to access your tickets once they are released and contact details if you are having any technical issues.

Really good, fast, reliable.. Choose the free version

Compared to traditional banks, it's years ahead. Just so easy, fast and handy. And it's so cheap that they're actually losing money, which is quite contrary to a bank's principles.
I compared the paid version and it's a bit cheaper than Revolut. In all honesty it doesn't seem useful in the paid version unless one really needs what's being offered in the package. I am using it for the shiny blue card :)) For regular users, the free version is more than sufficient.
Also, the Help and Support is fantastic!

Review of Nandos

Rated 3 out of 5 stars

Former employee here.

Former employee here.
Yes, the chicken is fresh.
Yes, the center of London is the best place to go get some Nando's. Soho, Covent Garden, in particular. Soho is Nando's excellence, because of that asian manager.
Yes, it's absolutely worth it, compared to other fast food chains.
Yes, it's a fast food place, not a restaurant.
Yes, it's very expensive.
Yes, you should go to a real restaurant if you want real food, real chefs, real waiters, etc.
Yes, the wine is bad.
Yes, Sagres (the beer) is great.
Yes, you should buy the full platter. The bigger the cheaper.
Yes, the sauces are amazing.
Yes, bottles get stolen. Lots of stuff gets stolen.

Review of Trading 212

Rated 2 out of 5 stars

Etoro is far better on CFD and crypto. Trading 212 far more stable as an app, and has a huge number of instruments

1 star for the dotted line that indicates where i started
1 star for the huge number of companies listed, including newly listed, like UIPath that was listed today and can already be traded (and it's not a famous company)
Minus 3 stars for the huge difference in price (buy/sell), inability to choose leverage (like on eToro), lack of cryptocurrencies(also available on eToro),lack of any warning when using instruments that update their price once every week or month, and the introduction of deposit fees.

CEX- good. product -good . windows-really bad

The delivery was fast, two days.
The tablet (Dell Venue 11 Pro) came in perfect condition, with pen, bag and cover.
The package was bubble wrap and a black garbage sack...
5 stars for CEX, but the tablet is a disaster. Windows 10, full of bugs. I have so many problems with it. I reinstalled windows in 2 days, still, full of problems.I managed to get it to turn off the screen when I press power button, but! Downloads stop when screen is off. Youtube works. The keyboard shows up whenever it desires, and many times even if it shows up, i press the keys but no text appears. The tablet might be good. But not with windows 10.
