I've shopped with superdrug for years
I've shopped with superdrug for years, and have always been happy with their products and in store service. Living 2 bus rides away and a 32mile round trip to my nearest store I decided to use their online delivery service for the first time 2 weeks ago, opting for the standard 3-5 working days delivery.
After placing my order for a Jean Paul Gaultier gift set at £59 I received acknowledgement via e-mail within minutes, and when I checked its status 2 days later It was stated as "shipped".
After almost 5 days since I'd placed my order I became slightly worried as I'd had no further updates and was anxious that my order wouldn't arrive in time for when I needed it.
Despite numerous e-mail requests throughout the week I was only given the standard automated response, and feeling I was getting nowhere, I ended up ordering the product elsewhere. Finally, after many emails, I was contacted by an actual human who informed me that my parcel had been delivered 3 days after I'd placed my order! I stated that this was not possible as I had been home all day etc I was advised to check outside my property in case it had been hidden outside, and to my horror, stuffed under a pile of a very full recycling box (that was due for collection the next morning!) Was my parcel!! Luckily it was undamaged and intact, albeit a little soggy!!
It had been sitting there for 6 days, no card had been put through the door etc!!! I'm absolutely seething with Royal Mail😡😡
So in theory I'm very happy with superdrug's quick delivery but I feel this could've been resolved much sooner had the customer service team given me more detailed response regarding the whereabouts of my parcel, it was only be sheer luck that it didn't end up in the back of the recycling lorry!!!
So people, check your wheelie bins/recycling boxes or any outbuildings and knooks and crannies before you start firing off disgruntled emails like I did!! In this case it was Royal Mail who were the bad guys, and not superdrug!!
