Ordered a tie on Friday evening for a funeral the following Thursday. Paid for next working day shipping so should have arrived Tuesday. As at Wednesday late afternoon, still hadn’t arrived - so I had to go into town to buy another. Customer service couldn’t do anything when I phoned them.

Good afternoon,
Thank you for your review.
I'm sorry to hear about this issue. I have looked into this order and the emails between you and our customer service agent. I can see that a response was provided to your initial email offering to help with this situation. As a good will gesture, your shipping fee was refunded. As the status with Royal mail shows ready for delivery, we are unable to redirect. Therefore, we have advised you can refuse delivery for it to be returned or arrange a return yourself for a full refund of the item.
Should you need further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us at customerservice@hawesandcurtis.com (mailto:customerservice@hawesandcurtis.com).
The initial experience when selecting an eternity ring was very pleasant: friendly, knowledgeable and relaxed service without pressured selling, as well as what my wife and I both thought was good advice from the sales assistant when we were selecting from what is an impressively wide range. I bought the ring over the phone a few days later, and asked the store to keep it so as I could pick up closer to my wife’s birthday, since it is to be a surprise. What was unfortunate was that when I subsequently returned to pick up the ring there was a 40% store-wide discount which exceeded the discount I had been given at the time of purchase; the store were apparently unable to made good the difference by way of partial refund. I was given a credit note - which I’m unlikely to use as I don’t buy much jewellery - and a phone conversation about the notional future purchase of matching earrings was *really* not what I wanted at that point. I would have been more philosophical had I taken the ring home at the point of purchase, but to leave the store today with the ring knowing I’d overpaid compared to the price in the window meant the overall experience left me somewhat deflated.
