Review of Vue
I went to a performance of the 4K restoration of the Sound of Music in screen 5 at the Vue cinema in Watford. Sadly, the image was dull with all the colours washed out.Such a disappointment. My bluray of the film has grain but is bright with vibrant colours. Also, they forgot to switch on the projector for nearly fifteen minutes. A member of the audience went to find out what was going on.
Review of Shearings Holidays
Our Yorkshire Steam and Railway Aventure was based at the Bradford Midland Hotel. The quality of this hotel was first rate. Our optional excursion to York was on a day that The National Railway Museum was closed. The coach driver was great at manoeuvring the vehicle but had no people skills or knowledge of the destinations. Our excursion and ride on The Keighley and Worth Valley Railway was nearly ruined by her dropping us off at Haworth instead of Keighley to catch the train. This would have meant having less than five minutes on the train. I personally managed to resolve the situation thanks to the generosity of the KWVR. Our excursion on the Settle and Carlisle railway left us with no chance to explore or get refreshments at Appleby. The ride through the Lake District was a view of it from the motorway on the quickest route back to Bradford.
