Upfront Payment Scam Disguised as Crypto Mining

I started with just a small amount, thinking this might be a genuine opportunity. Very quickly I was encouraged to keep putting in more, always for spurious reasons: $300 here for “identity checks,” then “tax,” then a so-called “liquidity buffer.”

In total, I invested around $1,800 and, through staking and constant encouragement via WhatsApp, built up what looked like a $7,000 pot. I was genuinely hopeful this could help me and my family through some difficult times.

But every time I tried to withdraw, another demand appeared. The rep, an American called Kelvin, assured me after one payment: “Now, you can seamlessly withdraw next time without facing any issues.” Yet the very next request was out of the blue: “You will still need to deposit $200 + and $100 tax payment before you can withdraw.” Nowhere does it say that there are these extra payment required.

I scrabbled around to find the money—again—and when I finally made what they promised would be the last payment of $300, they claimed they hadn’t received it. Blockchain and Revolut both clearly confirmed it had gone through. When I asked for proof that they hadn’t received it, they went silent on WhatsApp for the first time.

The bottom line? It’s an upfront payment scam. I’ve put in nearly $2,000 and only ever managed to withdraw $100. All the attractive figures on the screen were nothing more than bait to keep me depositing more. The time, trust, and hope I invested were simply part of their grooming process.

⚠️ Don’t fall for it—this is just another crypto mining scam built on false promises and high returns you will never see.

Review of JAMining

Avoid JAMining – Sophisticated Scam Disguised as Cloud Mining

I strongly urge anyone considering JAMining to steer clear. My experience has been both distressing and revealing—it’s clear this is part of a highly organised and deceptive scam.

I initially invested $2,750 into one of their so-called mining contracts and saw what appeared to be healthy returns on the platform dashboard. But when I attempted to make a withdrawal, I was suddenly told I had breached the contract by failing to make two consecutive payments—a condition buried in the fine print and never clearly explained.

To “resolve” this issue, they requested another $2,750, which I reluctantly paid. Then came the next hurdle: my account allegedly had to pass a “computerised validation”, which conveniently failed with no clear reason given. I was told I needed to pay an additional $2,750 to purchase a replacement contract, since the original had supposedly sold out.

At this point, I had sent a total of $7,700, and they still refused to release my funds. Instead, they demanded another $5,000, claiming I now needed to buy two contracts at once to finally “unlock” my account.

By this point, it became clear I had fallen into a classic advance-fee scam: they keep inventing problems, dangling the promise of access to your funds, and pushing you to send more money.

That’s when I started investigating—and what I found was extremely concerning.

JAMining’s claim to be FCA-regulated is entirely false. They’ve cloned the identity of a legitimate company, JA Financial Services Limited (based in Warwick), and published their official documents on the JAMining website to appear credible and also trumpeted the fact they are FCA regulated.

I spoke directly with the real company, who confirmed they have no connection whatsoever to JAMining and have repeated calls from distressed people who think they are dealing with JA mining. I’ve reported this to the FCA, who are now investigating what appears to be a serious case of identity theft and regulatory misrepresentation.

In reality, JAMining is based in Bournemouth and is owned by Mr Jordan Cross, according to Companies House records. A search on the FCA website shows they are not registered - the link on the website is for the cloned company - what a disgrace.

No reputable investment firm would operate like this. Once they’ve taken your money, they’ll do everything they can to block withdrawals and manipulate you into paying more.

Please don’t fall for the same trap. Avoid JAMining entirely, and report them to the FCA if you’ve had a similar experience.

I am a pensioner on a limited budget and I did this as they used sophisticated language and I never like to breach contracts and was trying to put it right. It appears that they were the ones breaching contracts and trust all over the place.

Avoid Virtual Trade Links (VTLChain) – Sophisticated Scam That Preys on Trust

I strongly urge everyone to avoid Virtual Trade Links (VTLChain) and their website virtualtradelinks.com. What started as a promising investment turned out to be a sophisticated and manipulative scam.

They initially built trust with professional-sounding language, a polished website, and regular WhatsApp contact. I initially spoke with someone named Alexander, who seemed friendly—I even encouraged him to correct spelling errors on their site (the “Submit” button was spelled “Sumbit”—a red flag I wish I’d taken more seriously).

After depositing funds and seeing what appeared to be returns, I was even able to make a small initial withdrawal. This gave me enough confidence to upgrade to a higher plan and invest a further $1,000. But when I had a family emergency and needed to withdraw a larger sum, everything changed.

At first, I was told the withdrawal was successful. Then came a series of delays—first blaming workload, then claiming I needed to pay $4,379 for a “Legal Certification in Blockchain Law” before my funds could be released. They claimed this was a compliance requirement, but after researching and speaking with professionals, I learned this certification is not legally required by any UK or international regulator.

They promised 97% of the fee would be “recredited” to my balance. When I questioned it, they suddenly offered a 50% discount—clearly just another tactic to squeeze more money out of me.

They refused to process my withdrawal without this payment—a classic red flag. My requested withdrawal of $1,500 remains stuck in “pending” and has never been authorised. None of my contract rewards have been honoured and I can't rerun my contracts as its sitting in limbo.

I’m a pensioner and feel deeply sickened by what’s happened. It’s clear now they preyed on my trust and financial vulnerability. I was even pushed to consider investing $10,000+—which thankfully I didn’t. Now that I’ve said “no” to the so-called compliance fee, they’ve gone completely silent.

I have reported this company to Action Fraud UK and the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).

Please don’t be fooled like I was. The high returns, smooth onboarding, fake dashboards, friendly WhatsApp messages—it’s all part of the act. Once they have your money, they’ll use delay tactics and invented fees to keep it.

This is a fraudulent platform. Do not invest.

SCAM - Payment blocking tactics based on misleading contract small print

SCAM - warning this company will take money off you and you will get an couple of payouts. They then tricked me into a contract where it said secreted in the small print that I had to buy two consecutive contracts. They blocked my account from withdrawals until I bought another at $2750 which they promised would sort the issue. The computer allegedly said no again and I was encouraged to put in yet another of the same amount to make it truly consecutive. Again that wasn't enough they want another amount again this time 5k. They aren't FCA regulated at all its a complete scam. Don't touch them they are crooks. This includes JAMining.com which is a mirror company who not surprisingly have turned off their reviews. They are also impersonating a valid financial company. The person in the support was called Julia - when I asked for the surname...Roberts. I rest my case.

Be aware of their strict fair useage…

Be aware of their strict fair useage policy - after 3 weeks of use on their so called 'unlimited' package my network collapsed. On calling them they said I had used over 500gb and as such had throttled my account to the extent that it made the network totally unusable.

Advertising standards should not allow companies to effectively limit accounts that are clearly stated as being 'unlimited'. I had no idea until my mission critical network effectively went down.

Hi Charles, thank you for your feedback, like all networks we do have a fair use policy which is in place to ensure the best service possible for all our users. When usage on unlimited plans exceeds 500GB in a single billing period, we may need to deploy traffic management rules so you may experience a reduction in speed but we don't cap usage.

Kind regards

Helped me with focus and clarity in the busy world of social media

Great ambassadors in helping people who are maybe adrift with information overload in gaining clarity and vision on their offer on social media.

I'm so glad I stumbled across Dan and Sales Boom he has a huge amount of authenticity and is refreshingly unsalesy in his approach. I genuinely think he wants people to succeed in social media and gives useful and robust advice in how to achieve a niche and what it takes to be focussed and create a winning sales message.

I can see a path forward for my business now whereas before I was somewhat adrift.

A French criminal and scammer that stole over £130 from me

This is a definite scam - paid £17 and then another £17 was taken for lifetime updates. Then came the upsell - my tracker wouldn’t work properly unless I paid another £97. I stupidly got FOMO and paid this. Got emails from a French guy called Jean Yves for these amounts - for the £97 the invoice was for “Lit Ultra-Apaisant DoggyPlace® I pour chiens et chats - Beige XXL - 110cm” with my limited French this is a pet bed! Not the money making affiliate reward system that was sold. I’ve received nothing else and the support email is non functional. I’m am reporting this to Action Fraud and complaining to Instagram. This guy is thief and a criminal - avoid like the plague.

Old school shoddy delivery service

Paid over £10 for them to simply deliver a couple of replacement grills for my Tefal air fryer which arrived without them. It said amazingly 7 days required - 10 days later still waiting. Rang up and a woman promised to call back with an update the next day - she never did. What a shoddy company with poor standards I feel like sending the product back as don’t want anything to do with them.

Found wanting by a nurse in need - read the small print

They have failed to come out twice to my daughter who’s a young nurse. Finding excuses and small print to wriggle out of helping her. Once as she forgot to tax her car and then once taxed and all ok because it was allegedly the same problem for the job they didn’t come out to - we got that fixed elsewhere at our cost. Ridiculous waste of a premium - company’s like this give insurance a bad name.

Brutal trigger happy behaviour to a youngster...

My son did various applications for car insurance on comparison sites as he was chasing a particular quote he’d had a few days prior with another insurer (which never reappeared - what goes?) So went about deleting cookies and search history in order to try and regain the quote from the initial cheapest insurer.

Finally picked Hastings then two days later he was contacted and told the policy was being cancelled due to ‘conflicting information’. They won’t tell him the particulars of the information other than it was on data entered into the comparison sites...They have also said they’ve entered it to claims and underwriting exchange or CUE. So it’s a black mark for a simple oversight or misrepresentation.

The cheapest quote he’s had since declaring the cancellation whilst he fights it is 3K+ so poor chap now can’t drive and is deeply distressed - it’s the first time he’s applied for insurance on his own and he’s been treated like a criminal - worst he doesn’t know what he’s done wrong to defend himself.

He has written a complaint in which they say they will come back in 3 days that was 4 working days ago.
