Absolutely diabolical
Absolutely diabolical and that puts it mildly. I expected my delivery today and when delivery hadn't happened by 4pm I ran a tracking check only to discover that it HAD been delivered, but to a 'safe point'. Where the safe point actually was I had no idea. I had no idea either what or where so called safe points were in the WV16 area, or indeed in any area. I checked some possibilities via the internet, tried phoning UPS and even their Telford number was inaccurate - a priavate user who knew nothing of UPS. After going round in ever decreasing circles, I eventually traced my package to a Bridgnorth shop that had closed for the day - assuming it is there I will attempt to collect it in the morning. The UPS driver, according to the tracking information claimed he couldn't deliver at my addrees - hmmm strange as my wife was working outside at the time he said he attempted delivery. I quite believe that no attempt was actually made and he opted for what he considered the easiest option. There is, I later discovered a safe point much closer to my address than the one he chose. Overall I feel very angry, having spent so much time on a wild goose chase. My view of UPS after this experience is lower than the one I hold of Royal Mail and that is saying something.
Update : I successfully collected my package from a local access point this morning and related my experience to the shopkeeper. When I told him that tracking had eventually led me there and that it had been delivered yesterday, Sept 23rd at 12.45, he said, that's strange it only arrived here this morning, Wed 24th Sept. So some UPS delivery men are fibbers as well!!
