Nice plants - poor packaging
It isn't often that I purchase plants online, but I was attracted to some pansy plants I saw advertised in the Sunday Express Colour Sup recently. To be fair to YouGarden, I missed the fact that I needed to use a code in order to claim their buy one get one free offer, so I missed out on the freebie. Of the ten plants I received nine of them are great and are now planted out into a hanging basket. In my opinion, they could have been better packed and given more protection, as the tenth plant and it's soil had come adrift from the container and the pansy became 'beheaded' during transit. I was offered the cost of the damaged item, but felt claiming £1.49 would be a tad petty, so I declined. My real gripe is regarding the efficiency of the packaging and the protection given to plants that have to withstand the rigours of several days in the care of the handling postal service/carrier. This experience has led me to think that future online plant buying is not for me - but rather I use my nearby garden centres a little more often
