Review of Simplycarmats

Look great and fit perfectly

The mats took a while to arrive (that’s the only reason for four rather than five stars) but I am very happy with them. They look great and fit perfectly onto the studs on the floor of my Volvo V40.

Also a very reasonable price.

Would recommend

Beware of this company if you are in the UK

I have had the same experience as previous review from Patrick Abbott. I strongly advise anyone in the UK to think carefully before using this company. They simply have not got their head round the customs requirement for trading with the UK since Brexit and their Customer Support is minimal.

I ordered an Endura cycling jacket costing £65. It took 6 weeks for it to arrive. I knew it was a back order, so there would be a delay but the package was kept 2 weeks in customs on the way over. Then I had to return it. They gave me an address but nothing else, so I wasn't quite sure what to put on the customs form . I posted it on 27 September and now, apparently, it's on its way back to me. It was 3 weeks in Spanish customs and then when they tried to deliver the parcel they couldn't. Deporvillage Customer Support say it's my fault because there are customs duties to pay.

UPDATE 27 November: Today I have received a refund from Deporvillage for this item. Following this review, I received the parcel back and it was clear that Spanish Postal Service could not deliver it to Deporvillage. Nothing to do with customs charges.

I contacted them with this information, with photos of the 'can not deliver' message on the package, and they arranged for DHL to pick up the package for return to them. Since then everything has gone smoothly. I did notice that the address DHL were delivering to and the address I was given initially (via Customer Support) were very different.

Happier now, but overall not a good experience at all.

Hi,

Thank you for contacting us.

As per your request, custom duties are independent/are not charged by Deporvillage, as we have no influence on them. This is charged by the customs office in the UK for all orders above certain amount from overseas.
You can check the UK government website for further information:

https://www.gov.uk/goods-sent-from-abroad/tax-and-duty

Custom duties may apply, as stated in our terms and conditions and also at the checkout, before you do the purchase.

Excuse the inconveniences.

Best regards,

Beware no WiFi calling

Be very cautious about taking the utility warehouse mobile services.

We took out the the £10 mobile service as part of bundle. Due to poor mobile signal in our village, and the fact that NONE of their mobile packages have wi-fi calling, we ended up with a phone that couldn’t be used most of the time.

I asked if I could cancel it and was told that if I did, the ‘bundle’ would cost another £150 a year. So We were trapped ... a phone service we were paying for but not receiving, and no way to get out without paying a fortune. Was told ‘just put it in a drawer if it doesn’t work’. And then pay again for another service ...

In the end they agreed to supply a signal booster box with a discount for the first year . The box costs £2.15 a month. It works pretty well, but it’s an extra box attached to your WiFi router.

WHY DONT THEY JUST DO WIFI CALLING? It’s on all the EE packages, and it’s quite unusual not to have it.

I know this is a very specific situation, but be aware.

It’s my partner’s phone, she seems ok with it now, but what a carry on.

Hi Kathryn,

Thanks for leaving your review. Although we use the EE network, we're a separate company with our own product and services.

We're always looking for ways to improve our service, so thanks for taking the time to give us your feedback.

Thanks for your time and patience,
Michael

I have not received my order

I have not received my order. It says it will take a month to arrive. I have queried this via the contacts given (no phone, nothing when you click ‘call an agent so only option was email). No response.

This company gives the impression it is in the U.K. but I’m pretty sure it isn’t - I think it is registered in Spain. I do not trust them at all.

I feel duped . I spent more than I intended to because of ‘free delivery’ offer, allegedly in 48-72 hours. hah! Feeling very anxious and will update again later .

However advice is DO NOT USE.

Order PHA-GB-180504204634f

The delivery date on my order (28 May) has come and gone. I received notification that one item was out of stock and I received a refund for this. But I have £62 worth of goods outstanding. I have emailed again and emailed bilua.com, the parent company to ask for a refund.

Just appalling service. No contact, at all. who knows what will happen?
