Support when you need it most

The Fortect virus application is a brilliant virus protection and system repair tool. Easy to install and run, I have been using it now since 2023.
I fully recommend it.
The Fortect support team are exactly that: supportive. On the one occasion I had a technical issue I was surprised by the quick and precise response I needed to fix the problem. They helped analyse and instructive, helping me resolve the problem quickly. very little time-delay during our communication.

Enchanted Bed Company (Topsham)

We bought a bespoke European king size bed from Enchanted Beds (formerly Dartmoor Bed Company) in Topsham, Devon. Two years ago. Great service, great choice of beds, but best of all, we could buy the bed-size we wanted.
However, within a year we began to detect an odour coming from the (Widdecombe) headboard. Not strong at first, but it grew. Strangely, this indescribable odour would come and go. Eventually, we reported it, but unfortunately on the day the company sent someone to check it out, the smell was not there. A week later, it came back with a vengeance. Following advice we detached it from the bed and put it in another bedroom. Again the odour came and went. Enchanted Beds couldn't help, so the only option was to buy a new one. (July 2025). At the time the new headboard arrived, the old headboard was 'ripe'. Even the removal guys agreed there was a smell. Enchanted Beds promised they would investigate and report back. A month later, we were informed they could not detect a bad smell. Their investigation was inconclusive. We were shocked.
The question is, are we the only customers with this problem? Please let us know. Or let the company know. This smell woke us up at night on occassions, it was sometimes that strong.

The Lion Hotel. Buckden, near Huntingdon

4-star/ The Lion Hotel, High Street, Buckden, PE19 5XA

Before I start, I will add that we did receive an apology from the owner of The Lion Hotel following our email of complaint, but we think it's still worth explaining its short-comings.
We booked in for 2 nights (18 and 19th March). Firstly I must say that the description of our room (we were in room 8) "Deluxe Double Room" is an affront to the term Deluxe. It's a long way off from being that. The room itself was barely 3-star, the bathroom and toilet we could barely categorise as 2-star. Shabby, is a good word, to be polite.
But the reason I am writing is to complain about the fact the heating in this room (probably on auto) stopped somewhere after 8.30pm. It was a cold night, and the room chilled quickly. A hot bath, then? Nope, no hot water either. Luke warm at this point by 9pm. We'd had dinner in the restaurant at 7pm, which was very nice, and after 8pm we decided to rest up for the evening, having driven from Devon.
Then, just to add to our annoyance, there came the sound of some machine coming from the bathroom direction. On investigating, I could only presume the noise originated from a neighbouring room. Fortunately that didn't last long.
Tired and cold, we decided to go to bed early. Come 5.30 am there was a disturbance from outside our bedroom. Not the fault of the hotel, I must add. It was a council bin vehicle maybe, backing into the drive-way telling the local neighbourhood it was reversing. There was a few other disturbances during the early hours but I was too tired to take a look. Again, no fault of the Hotel.
That's it. We decided to just leave after the first night. There was nobody at reception in the morning, nobody to complain to, so we dropped the keys off at the desk. We weren't expecting any compensation, and we didn't get any.
Nice hotel. No more to say. We give it 2 stars

Hunkemoller.UK ignorant when notified about a missing delivery

Hunkemoller.UK simply chose to ignore me when I contacted them about a LOST EVRI parcel containing my order.
HUnkemoller, I wrote to you twice, the first time 10 December. I asked for a refund or a resend the second time. NOTHING came back from you. Have you even corresponded with EVRI?
STOP using EVRI. I am writing this review with a 1-star because you are as bad as EVRI. This is unprofessional and discourteous.

UPDATE 22.12.2023 No sign of the parcel or communication. This is the direction British firms are now taking, is it? 10 stars for ignorance.

Delivery H01RSA0002566075 MISSING

Delivery H01RSA0002566075 delivered you say, but NOT, (since 10 December) IT'S STILL MISSING. I have contacted you more than once and your apologies keep coming but my parcel doesn't.
If this poor TRUSTPILOT review doesn't get a response what will? Why are retailers still using EVRI? Is it because they're cheap?

UPDATE 22.12.2023 EVRI have not even bothered to come back to me. Even TrustPilot reviews have no bearing on them any more. Retailers, beware. Your products are not making their destination.
EVRI is taking everyone for a ride, but who knows where to? Not even the drivers it seems.

JustAnswer are not to be trusted

JustAnswer tried to help themselves to my bank account using the details of my bank card. The help I asked for at the time was fine and I was charged £1, meaning I had to give them my card number to pay with. I didn't pursue any detailed advice and yet a week later I discovered £35 was withdrawn from my account by JustAnswer. I tried to contact them to query this but got no response. I regret that I let it go at the time because just 4 weeks later another £35 was charged, but this time my card was blocked and the transaction was denied, fortunately. My card has now been destroyed to prevent further withdrawal attempts. I am considering legal charges at this point.
So my advice to users, don't be suckered in by JustAnswer. They are not answerable once they have your bank details.

I have been advised that a £1 question grants you a 3-day trial membership which evolves into a full membership, whether you want it or not, which will cost £35 monthly unless you are focused into cancelling this membership before money is withdrawn 6 days later without prior warning or a membership confirmation note.
So BEWARE

Arrived on time and our purchase was…

Arrived on time and our purchase was carried by the very helpful driver and placed in the house.
Given the much-publicised lack of HGV drivers, I won't dwell on the fact our agreed delivery date was actually 2 days before, and the delay was no big deal for us, but other people may not have the time nor patience to wait in for deliveries.

They came when we needed them. GA Services provided prompt and satisfying same day call-out service when our gas boiler malfunctioned on a very cold day.

Homeserve are simply not listening

Homeserve are simply not listening. I emailed to say I will not be renewing my contract after it expired, and this morning a month later I received a letter telling me my direct debit is overdue. I cancelled because I was not happy with the service. This sums it up. I already have a letter following my complaint about the poor service and was promised in this letter that someone would get in touch within 4 weeks!
1 star is lucky
