Terrible on renewal - otherwise fine

As an Electricity provider, I had no issues with Energia throughout the year contract and some of the CSR staff were very helpful.
The only Elec issues we faced where due to ESB Outages - so prety standard.

However, the company really shows its colours on renewal imho.
My contract was due to expire on Oct 15th just gone and had it timed in my calendar to look for new options at renewal.
One of the staff there in Energia told me to not change over or look to move until "1 day" after my contract had expired as Energia will try and hit me with a 50 euro termination fee if I change over on my contract expiration date of the 15th.

Anyhow, before I started looking elsewhere, I had a look at the contract renewal options on my account.
Here, as a valued customer, I was offered a new contract option of "Rural electricity 24hr rate" of 42.65c/kWh with a 20% discount.
So my new standard rate would be 34.12 c/kWH. The PSO was listed as 26.29 and standing charge at 337.02.

After looking around, I changed over to Flogas for the year as they were the cheapest option on the market yesterday 16/10/2025 at Fixed yearly standard rate of 24.08 including VAT, 334 standing charge and 26.29 PSO - so happily moved to them for my Elec for the year. Also, this is Fixed meaning they wont turn around in April and increase the charges by 10% or whatever else is deemed appropriate by other providers.

On calling Energia to advise them I was leaving and providing my final Meter reading which had been given to Flogas, they asked if I would reconsider and that they could offer 24 c/kWh ex VAT - I asked them why that had not been the case on the renewal option within my account and they advised they had discretion to provide better deals over the phone.

They are not alone in their greed when it comes to pricing residential customers but would be hesitant now to go back to them on renewal time in the future.

Have been using CEX for years

Have been using CEX for years - both buying and trading in.
In store is always best as you can view your items before purchasing but online works great.
Recently bought a 265K Cpu and no issues, got for a good price as well.
My only issue with the online store is postage. If you buy say 5 Blu rays - they charge you €3.50 per item. This is because the physical shops send them so it’s not a true online repository.

Kennedys Hardware Online - 5+

First time using Kennedys Hardware store Online.

Ordered a Hyundai 5-IN-1 PETROL MULTI-TOOL HYMT5200X system.
As this was my first time ordering, I got sent a one time code for €15.

Also, they had the cheapest online price in Ireland and free delivery for purchases over €99 - so all in, best value locally and online I could get for what I was looking to buy..

Processed my order on Sat 07/06 and received delivery via An Post on Thursday 12/06 - very quick turnaround - 3 Business days.

I had emailed to get a tracking number as my order status had changed to Shipped on my account but had not received a shipping email with tracker.

All in all - good prices (Best online in this instance), fast delivery, prompt email response from store - very good experience all round.
Will use them again 100%.

Some small niggles re online that they may be able to change -
1. Delivery Info states they use DPD but delivery received via An Post (no issues).
2. Your Orders in Order history on account don't let you click in and view your order itself. You do get a PDF invoice on email via ordering so need to keep it.
3. No Shipped email received - bar emailing CS, you have to wait for An Post to let you know they have the item for shipping.
Like I said, these are only small niggles that would elevate the online experience if resolved.

Luvele dont cater for Irish Customers

Hi, I recently wanted to purchase the Luvele Pure Plus Yoghurt Maker and Blender. I am based in Ireland so attempted to purchase through luvele.co.uk.
However, on checkout was advised by the site that I was required to make the order via luvele.eu.
I went to make the purchase but wanted to check first if the cables provided via luvele.EU would cater for Ireland as we are the same as the UK on TYPE G Plug ( 3 flat rectangular pins).
I couldn't find any way to contact them except via email so I emailed them to enquire.
17 hrs later they replied -
"Our EU stock will come with an EU power plug, so you will need to use an adaptor or purchase a British power cord. Our Yogurt Makers has a detachable cord."
So effectively Luvele EU advised that they don't cater for Irish based customers and that we are being made to purchase additional items - either a Type G Plug power cable or an EU-UK plug adaptor.
This would be the case for every electrical item purchased. Very disappointed.

The 2 year warranty you get on purchases such as consoles provides huge peace of mind.

Dragons Dogma 2 - Refund Issues

Been a long time customer of cdkeys.com and have more than 55 titles ordered from them on my account. I pre-ordered DD2 some time back but decided to cancel and request a refund when I heard about all the issues with optimisation on the game etc.
However, 3 days later and no refund and no comms bar 1 email to advise they had received my cancel/refund request.
The email goes on to say we will look at your request and get back to you with 72 hours.
Also, they are offering a refund in the form of a Gift card as opposed to back to the card which I used.
This is my first time ever looking for a refund and I am not impressed. If they dont sort this out soon and properly, wont be using them again.

I will update this review during the week with further details but very bad Customer Service on this occassion!

Update - 27/03 - Emailed tjem twice further - radio silence. An hour ago they replied to this review advising they have emailed me for further details - which is not true - no email was received. Still waiting.

Update 2 - Received an email from Support at 08.30 (GMT) to advise a refund is incoming and will take up to 5 days. I will update when received. Also, will endeavour to find out if this is a regular issue with cdkeys or if it was solo due to the issues surrounding the release of DD2.

Update 3 - March 30th - received my refund back to my account. As stated - my first order with cdkeys was back in - Date Ordered: 12/09/2015 22:25 - and have 55 orders on record. This was the first time I ever had an issue with the site and also the first time I ever requested a cancellation and refund. I am going to give them the benefit of the doubt on this occassion due to the issue they encountered with the DD2 keys and the number of refunds they would have had to process.

Unfortunately Fastway are as bad as DHL…

Unfortunately Fastway are as bad as DHL and UPS. Terrible service in regards to rural deliveries.
You don’t get a time, you often get “was unable to deliver” notifications late at night , they often drop the package at the gate or somewhere like the village shop.
A lot of times they are unmarked vans with no fastway signs. Just rubbish.
The only decent couriers in Ireland are DPD and A Post.
Try stay away from online purchasing that use fastway as their courier.

Have never had an issue with them. From their time estimates to friendly drivers, can’t praise them enough.

Nearly 100% Germination from their seeds - super happy.

Have ordered 4 times from seedsireland.ie and no issues at all. Good and quick replies to queries re gardening etc. However, the reason I am giving 5 stars out of 5 is their seeds - unbelievable - the literally "ALL" germinate. From tomatoes to strawberries to Broccoli etc - have had nearly 100% success with germination. It’s now very hard for me to order from other places when it comes to seeds due to the success rate here.
Would 1000% recommend the site for gardening needs and especially seeds. I also use quickcrop.ie which are also an excellent Irish gardening website.

Stay away from micksgarage.com - not what it was. Customer Service line is no longer attended - they just have an answering machine telling youi to email them.
They provided me with the wrong items recently and I contacted them via email. Photos were requested - which I sent to a Kieran in Customer Service and then no further replies from them.
Shockingly bad service from what was once a good online compnay. Order elsewhere...

Warning - Do not use eDreams!

Do not use eDreams under any circumstances - period.
Book your flights directly with the Airline.!!!

We booked our flights via eDreams and within 2 hrs received an email to say they had been unable to secure the return flights - so the booking was partially confirmed.

I contacted Ryanair the next morning and they advised that it was an issue on eDreams side and that they had plenty of seats for said flight.
The email advised that we would receive our money back within 10 days for the part of the booking that they (eDreams) could not secure. We did not receive our refund back within 10 days - surprise there ...

First issue - when booking flights via eDreams - they have passengers of 12+ listed as "Adults" - so when you go to the airline to do your boarding passes - you will get Invalid DOBs on children from 12-15. The Airlines consider Adults as 16+ - not 12+.
Thankfully Ryanair were able to fix the issue over the phone and did not charge me for it but still had to waste time (40+ mins) trying to geta hold of someone to assist with the change.
Second issue - when you are making your booking - the prices for each of the flights, insurance, seat allocation, additional baggage etc is all listed for you with the final total price onscreen. When you have confirmed and paid for the booking - eDreams sends an email confirming the booking with the total price and a message advising they are trying to secure your flights. You now can no longer see how much each cost - so if you only get a partial booking (which happened to us) - you cant break down the costs to determine what your refund will be. Thus you are relying on eDreams to let you know how much they will refund you.
Third issue - the online chat is less than useless. I had tried to get through to a Human Customer Service agent several times to no avail. You keep going around in circles.
Finally, we contacted eDreams via email and were given a case number but no further info. Emailed twice more to a list of emails with no replies.
I eventually contacted my bank and they were aware of eDreams and advised that they would do a Chargeback but had to wait 15 days from the purchase date to initiate. They requested I write to eDreams to advise no refund received as per initial email and they requested that I can someone on the phone for proof of complaint made.
The day I was due to process the charge back I called eDreams on their UK number and spoke with a lady. Advised her on the issue and no refund received etc. I told her I needed her name for my docs with the bank and she then went on to process a refund which i received the next day.

In conclusion - do not use eDreams as you will have issues getting refunds, may only get partial bookings, if flights are cancelled or delayed - airlines will NOT deal with you and tell you to go back to eDreams to get rescheduled which won’t happen.
Also, if you need a refund - write to them, keep emails, and call them once and keep a record. Then do a CHARGEBACK via your bank within 90 days of the booking.

Just save yourself the headache... look at all the (VALID) complaints against them - all true.
You have been warned!!

Worst Postal Service Ever - Avoid at all costs

Do not use any online company from outside the EU that uses domestic postal services.
You will not get a package from outside the EU if it’s coming through an post.
They are literally unbelievably bad. Had 5 packages refused and returned in the last 2 months. 2 from the USA, 2 from HK and the latest from London.
The package sent from London was sent by a friend. Was registered/ tracked, had customs Declaration and Taric code.. all done right. They still refused it and sent it back in 17/11.

I’ve lost all faith and have no clue as to what is going on.

If you are ordering from outside the EU, use DHL/UPS/DPD etc. They come through fine and with no issues.

An Post are blaming the Revenue Customs section. I called customs to complain and they said it’s all An Post fault so both are blaming each other.

They ship next day, everything is packaged securely and arrives in their own Printed "Molloys Pharmacy" box. They even gave me some extras as a way of thank you and sometimes comes with a hand written thank you note.
