In store 5 of 5, online/delivery 0 out of 5

I would genuinely rate my local store and it's staff 5/5 without hesitation. Online delivery and customer services however, a big fat zero.

I ordered 4 items for delivery on a Sunday, on the Tuesday, 2 items were delivered by Evri with tracking for the other 2 items saying that they needed a specialist courier to delivery the items as they were too large (they were toolboxes, about the size of a Royal Mail medium parcel).

Long story short, after waiting 4 days for the tracking to update, I contacted Toolstation Customer Services who took 2 days to reply, they simply asked if I wanted a replacement or a refund, so I asked for replacements, 4 days later I got an email saying they didn't have any, and claimed to have refunded me, which is yet to hit my bank.

While I'll happily continue to use my local store, hell will freeze, thaw and freeze again before I ever order anything online from you again.

Fri Sep 13, Parcel due for delivery between 7pm and 9pm, it never got delivered. (We're sorry we've had to reschedule your delivery.)

Sat Sep 14, Parcel again sent out for delivery, no time window given, it never got delivered. (We're sorry, we were unable to deliver your parcel today. We'll try again on the next working day.)

Mon Sep 16, Parcel again sent out for delivery between 7pm and 9pm, it never got delivered, although this time for some reason they attached a photo there is nothing but 100% black pixels. (We're sorry, we were unable to deliver your parcel today. We'll try again on the next working day).

To be 100% clear two people had been at the delivery address Friday from 3pm, Sat from 3pm and Monday all day. This is not a case of not answering the door, this is very much a case of the courier not attempting delivery.

Seriously at what point do I report the parcel lost or stolen...

***RESPONSE***
I'm sorry, you want ME to call you and then wait for YOU to call me back... I've wasted two evenings waiting in for you already.

A word of warning

A word of warning, Power Tools UK lists Items on their webstore as being in stock, when they are in fact, NOT in stock.

Placed an order for a Milwaukee M12 detail sander on the 29th Aug 2024, with 2-3 days delivery (should have been delivered 3rd/4th Sept).

On the 3rd Sept 24, I had still not received an email advising dispatch and checking my order history on their website showed the order still as "Pending".

When I placed my order the item showed as in stock and when checking my order status on the 3rd Sept, it was still showing as in stock.

So I emailed and asked if there was a problem to be told...

"our stock delivery has unfortunately been delayed from Milwaukee. As the carriers have tried to deliver it twice after 6pm when we are closed!!

They are meant to be here today, hopefully they will.

This will be with you Thursday/Friday."

The only reason I haven't given 1 star is they at least replied to my email in a prompt and courteous manner.

That said, all things considered, an offer of upgrading to next day delivery is the least they could have done, I can only assume the fact they did not is because how often they probably pull this stunt off.

If I didn't need it quickly I could have ordered elsewhere that was cheaper but had it listed as "pre-order/awaiting stock", I ordered from Power Tools UK as hey were the cheapest price showing as in stock.

DO NOT list items as in stock if they are NOT IN YOUR WAREHOUSE.

***UPDATE***
A day later and still no sign of my order having been dispatched, so I placed a replacement order elsewhere and sent a message asking to cancel and refund my order.

Again I received a prompt, but much less polite message stating "Ok, it has left with the carrier, I will get it returned to us. Then we will refund it back to you."

Curious, my order status on their website still shows as "Pending" and I have had no emails or other messages from either Power Tools UK or a courier to indicate that the order has indeed been dispatched...

More lies ?

Either way, I've dropped the rating now to 1 star and I will in future never using this store again.

Instructor nearly run me over.

Approx. 10.30am on the 13th Feb 2024, near Aldi Dunstable, a car emblazoned with BSM branding with only one occupant, which I assume was an instructor drove on the wrong side of the road and nearly hit me as I was crossing the road so they could queue jump a dozen or so cars, and get to the car park 30 seconds quicker.

If this is the quality of teaching on offer it explains an awful lot about the average motorist on the road these days.

Sadly I do not recall the entire plate but I think it ended 52BSM.

Took 52 days to deliver.

TLDR: Placed an order 22nd Dec 2023, order finally arrived 12th Feb 2024. Other than an order confirmation email, the only other email I received was in reply to a complaint, which just contained lies.

The long version...
On the 22nd Dec 2023 I placed an order for some spare filters for a Makita DAS180Z, the items showed a delivery date of 5-7 days.

19th Jan 2024 I sent an email asking where my items were and that I had received no messages regarding my order.

The same day I received a message back saying that they "had emailed me stating the items were not in stock and that the message was probably in my spam folder, and that they would be in stock the next day, 20th Jan 2024"

Lie #1, I had received no emails other than the order confirmation and the reply to my query, yes I checked my spam folder and my deleted folder.

Lie #2, The items arrived this morning on the 12th Feb 2024. They arrived 23 days after they said they would be in stock and 52 days after placing the order.

I didn't even receive a message saying it had been dispatched, honestly I was within days of filing a claim with Visa to get a refund.

I'll admit, I've had worse experiences shopping online, this however was enough to put me off ever coming back.

I placed an order for 2 fleeces on the 17th Oct 2023. I was given two tracking numbers for this order with UPS and both items were sent from Brussels.

One tracking number for the last 3 working days has been updating with the same message each day saying "We’re sorry your parcel was delayed. We are adjusting delivery plans as quickly as possible."

The other parcel had an update this morning saying "The receiver does not want the product and refused the delivery.". I have been at home all day, I have been up since 6am and no one has rung the doorbell.

Skechers have no contact number, only an email. I emailed them yesterday asking for an update and had no reply and I've emailed them this morning asking what is going on as I have not "refused" any deliveries. I have had no replies and am now currently taking screenshots of my tracking info and order to file a claim with Visa.

Review of Eflorist

Where's the zero star option

Where's the zero star option.

In a word terrible. Today my mother received some flowers in the post, sent by my sister from Eflorist.

The box the flowers were sent in is royal mail large letter in size, to keep postage costs down. Inside the box, the flowers are simply wrapped in tissue paper with a sachet of food and "care instructions".

The flowers are squashed, dry as a bone and wilting 180 degrees.

The care instructions tells you to cut 2-3cm off the flowers and to place them in a vase with the food and they will "bloom" in 24-48 hours.

The first problem, with the box being only large letter in size, the flowers are very short and cutting another 2-3cm off the near non existent stem makes the flowers too small for anything less than the smallest of vases.

I have no idea how much my sister was robbed by this "florist" but you can get far, far, far better flowers in a supermarket for £3.

As for the flowers if they manage to "bloom" in 24-48 hours, I'll wear the same pair of pants for a month and then eat them as a forfeit.

Do not waste your money, you have been warned.

First experience, courier threw a parcel at the feet of my 74 year old disabled mother and walked off.

Consistently poor service.

Just purchased 4 Kids T-shirts using the "Kids Tees - 2 for £10.99 and Free Delivery" promotion. Charged £21.98 for the Tee's... and 1.99 delivery.

Purchased a box of Start Trek Graphic novels with a pair of free bookends about 2 years ago... still waiting for the bookends to be delivered. Yes I've sent messages, they go ignored and a negative review of the product got deleted.

They pack books poorly, every time I've ordered graphic novels from them 1 or 2 of the books are damaged.

Dunno why I keep coming back, they have nice stuff and the promotions are enticing, the service however, isn't worth the hassle.

Elderly ?, Disabled ?, then think twice before you order.

My mother ordered a set of oak Marlborough drawers online 5 weeks ago and today the drawers were delivered. Two men brought a massive cardboard box into her house, dumped it in the front room, asked her to sign a form and then left.

As soon as they drove off she noticed on the delivery form she signed it states "***PLEASE REMOVE ALL PACKING ON DELIVERY TO CUSTOMER***". My mother is elderly, disabled and frail and now has a massive 40Kg box sat in the middle of her front room.

She called FV and spent 30 mins on the phone, during this time the lady she spoke to claimed to have contacted the delivery drivers twice, who said both times that they could not come back till Saturday (in 48 hours), my mother explained that she is elderly and disabled and that the box is a hazard and needed to be dealt with asap, but no joy.

My mother said she would have to get someone else to unload the drawers as she could not cope having the box there for two days and asked if there would be any sort of refund on the delivery if the courier was not going to do what they had been paid for (cost £65 for one set of drawers), the lady from FV replied to this saying that unpacking/assembly was a "free service provided by the couriers and she did not pay for it, so there would be no partial refund on delivery" at which point my mother hung up in frustration.

I have now had to come over to unpack the drawers, having to employ one of her neighbours to help as the delivery note states that if "there is a problem with the drawers they have to be returned in the original packaging", so I did not want to risk damaging the packaging by trying to do it on my own, the box also states that it requires two people to unload.

Neither of us can actually comment on the product as of yet, regardless, we will not be using Furniture Village again.

Review of Hughes

Despicable delivery men.

I would never, ever buy anything from Hughes ever again.

After we placed our order my mother received a text saying the delivery people would call us half an hour before they arrived, which was welcomed as while I had taken our old appliance into the garden already I needed to unlock three doors/gates at the back of the house for the delivery people to bring our new tumble drier in through the back as it would not fit through the front door/porch.

Well rather than a call 30 mins before they arrived, they called as they parked up outside our house and when my mother told the man on the phone we needed a few minutes to unlock and clear access he took umbrage and began to have a go at my mother on the phone and becoming rather aggressive when she pointed out he was supposed to call 30 mins before arriving.

I eventually opened up the back and cleared access (took me about 3 mins), mother opened the front door and asked them to being the tumble drier around the back, closing the door straight after not wanting to speak to them as she was quite upset at the way she had been spoken to on the phone.

I was in the back garden as they brought the tumble drier down the passage and watched as they thoughtlessly and repeatedly banged our £800 tumble drier against my neighbours fence and slammed it into their gate as they turned it into our garden.

At first I said nothing as I could clearly feel the hostility in the air especially from the elder of the two delivery men, when they tried to bring the tumble drier into the house in its packaging I advised that it would need to be first unpacked as it would not fit through the door.

They removed the packaging and carried it into the house where my mother was waiting (I could not get into the house as the tumble drier was to be installed bay the back door), mother asked if they could place the tumble drier on top of the washing machine and again the elder of the two delivery people took umbrage, they did it but not before making it known they were not happy about having to do so.

The elder of the two delivery men then came out of the house and started to pick up the rubbish when I asked "are you taking the old machine away or is someone else coming to collect it?" (exact words) at which point he snapped / flipped and totally lost the plot.

While he did not swear at me he went off in a very aggressive tirade about the fact he could only do one thing at a time and was clearing the rubbish and that people in the street were having a go at him for blocking the road (he could have parked in front of our neighbours house as there was plenty of room but they decided to park in the middle of the road blocking the whole street, and since bringing the new machine into the garden neither of them had been back out the front so I'm unsure how anyone was having a go at him).

I was lost for words, took two steps back let him finish his rant, said nothing more, the younger of the two delivery men came out of the house, the elder came back they picked up the old machine and I locked up behind them, still somewhat in disbelief at what had just happened.

I'll admit I was annoyed at the way they spoke to myself but I was very angry at the fact they had upset my 70 year old disabled mother, I'm just thankful I was there when they came as if the delivery guy that lost the plot with me in the garden had spoken to my mother in the same way, she would have been in tears and I would be doing more than writing a bad review in retaliation.
