Customer service NIL

I have had homes and cars insurance with Linea Directa for six years. I did not receive a renewal notice. They attempted to take this years premium from my bank. Thankfully, they were unsuccessful. I have just spoken to a very rude agent called David. He could not help and he decided to cancel all my policies…he did this after I had informed him that I was recording the call…he was not happy .
I will never use them again. They have managed to lose
over €3000 worth of business. So much for their customer service.

Review of Budget Car Rental

I always use the big name rental…

I always use the big name rental companies. I used Budget for my recent trip to LA. After a long flight, the last thing anyone needs is a hard sell of ‘add ons’. Budget didn’t do the ‘ hard sell’..so I thought everything would be ok. I declined everything. I received the email contract a couple of hours after collecting the car….an extra had been added, something called RSN which is some kind of breakdown cover costing. $97 for two weeks.
The agent had quietly included the cover whilst flicking through the pages and pages of terms and conditions which have to be agreed. I rang the branch immediately and they promised to remove the charge..on returning the car You just leave the car and a invoice is emailed to you. This charge hasn’t been removed. To add insult to injury..they charged me a refuelling charge..I had just refuelled five miles away..! Fortunately, I photographed the cars fuel guage before and after my rental..this showed that the car had an extra 40 miles range on its return. Absolutely shocking. BEWARE…I thought Budget were better than this.

Get more wet with priority

Flying from U.K. to Spain. The plane only had circa 60 passengers. I always board last, what is the point when your seat is already allocated?
Yesterday it was raining at Manchester. The aircraft was not ready for boarding. Everyone was held at the steps to the aircraft for some time getting soaked..of course those with priority had the privelige of getting the worst of it. Everyone had to board via the front, which again slightly delayed the boarding. Thank goodness that the flight was only one third full.!
Considering the weather having people wait to board in the rain is a despicable tactic by Ryanair and should be addressed by management.

I understand some passengers think it necessary to board first in order to snag a overhead locker. However, priority boarding is all part of the big con to turn around the aircraft quickly and grab more money. Other than this the flight was on time.

Manchester airport

After a few problems with the ‘ value rental companies’ at Manchester airport I decided to return to the “big” companies. Cheap is never best..! Hertz were offering a good rate. I was attended to immediately at their desk in the rental village. A polite lady named Julia dealt with the paper work. Very efficient and pleasant..no hard sell for add on products (which when pushed always mean that I never return). On collection of car. Again, I was greeted by a smiling guy called Mumit. He took time to examine the car with me and point out any existing damage. All in all a very pleasant experience. Highly recommended. Thanks

Bateria

Compré 4 teléfonos a través de Backmarket en los últimos años y estoy muy satisfecho con su estado. Compré otro iPhone esta semana. Se ve bien, pero el estado de la batería es del 87 %, lo que significa que la energía cae casi de inmediato al 90 % y se agota rápidamente. Backmarket afirma que el estado aprobado de la batería es del 85 % o más. Desde mi experiencia reciente, esto no es lo suficientemente bueno. Backmarket debe informar a los compradores sobre el estado de la batería, no solo sobre su apariencia. Ahora tendré la molestia de devolver este teléfono.

I tried autobutler to save ringing…

I tried autobutler to save ringing around for service quotes.
They came up with two garages unfortunately both an inconvenient 45 to 50miles from my home. Now getting follow up emails with no “unsubscribe” feature. Very annoying.

Plusnet Yorkshire in disgrace

What is happening. Plusnet the nice Friendly company. Not any more. Impossible to contact. No web chat or email for mobile users, really helpful when my problem is with their mobile service...customer services via phone only.! Lots of people like myself having problems roaming in Spain. If you are lucky enough to find a signal,Plusnet will only connect to the very poor local provider Yoigo. There are great signals from the likes of orange, Vodafone and Movistar in the area..but no matter how I try my phone (and phones) will not connect to them. I am sitting here with a dead phone. This is not good enough. I can’t even access someone from plusnet to look into the matter. The only ‘help’ can be found on their forum where members correspond..or in this case confirm my complaint.

We had booked a car from Alicante airport. Because of bad weather dozens of flights from the U.K. were delayed. We arrived at Alicante at 11.30 and found the OK office closed. We were not alone, other passengers from other U.K. airports and ok customers had been abandoned. Why did OK staff not wait to serve these delayed passengers. OK knew that they had bookings from these flights.
None of their “24hr lines” were being answered. The catch 22 here is that because we arrived late, we were deemed “no show”...so next morning we still had no car....BEWARE
UPDATE...the usual get out of jail generic reply from OK...As I said there were lots of others delayed...surely your staff should check the arrivals boards...flight numbers WERE included on the booking.!,,,not good enough

Cashback..what cashback..?

I used Argus car hire because they offered decent cashback viia topcashback...they have refused to pay cash back...stating I hadn’t purchased via said company...absolute tosh. They have now lost my custom which is around 20 rentals per annum.
Argus offered the deal.. the cash back company say that Argus refuse to pay a catch 22

returns prepayUPDATED

I have used my memory for lots of purchases over the years and not had any problems.
Recently, I had to return a faulty item. They provide a prepaid returns label..unfortunately, My post office would not give me proof of postage because it was a “prepay”. Needless to say I have been informed by “my memory” that they have not received the item and will have to “wait to see if it turns up” it is now six weeks they still insist that it hasn’t arrived..! Therfore, no sign of a refund or replacement. I recommend that you pay for returns and send registered...otherwise you could end up out of pocket like myself. UPDATE..after this post my memory have refunded me for the item...thank you, but I still suggest sending signed for delivery. Now given 4 stars!

Sixt Manchester airport...

This is a review for Sixt at Manchester airport. I thought that I would try sixt after having terrible experiences with the cheaper rental companies operating around Manchester airport. Sixt are based in the rental village with all the major brands. A quick and efficient shuttle bus gets you to the village without hastle...the last time we used a company off site and had to phone the car company and wait for 30 mins before a van turned up and then we had a 10 minute journey and hard sell of insurance. At Sixt We were met by friendly staff and the whole process was hastle free and no hard sell on the insurance after I informed them that I had cover already. We were taken to the car and shown the controls ( this is not the norm elsewhere). The car was new and clean. On return the same courtious service. I will definately be using Sixt at Manchester airport next time.

If you don’t mind the wait....

I have purchased numerous pair from Specky four eyes. My first pair were made as readers instead of distance. This was remedied without hassle but as they take at least a month to complete an order i had to wait two months before the correct order arrived. My latest pair were ordered four weeks ago...I have just been informed that they have been dispatched so another wait. If you do not want your specks urgently you will not have any worries.

5 stars for the new baggage policyUPDATED

5 stars for the new baggage policy. After paying to endure a long wait in the priority queue last month I decided to not bother on my flight yesterday. So I didn’t pay for priority boarding or extra carry on. I waited in the lounge until everyone else had boarded..got on last..my roller bag was put into the hold..no struggling with it on the steps, through the plane or finding space in the overhead bins. On arrival..even better...
Watching folk struggle on the aircraft with cases then going up and down stairs transversing the terminal why bother?...I strolled through with my small carry on and there was my case waiting on the carousel ( last on first off) so straight out of the airport no hassle. Thanks Ryanair...you have saved me money and hassle...I have paid extra for this service elsewhere.

Saved me £25k

I was disgusted at the fees demanded by high street estate agents. After all, everyone now searches for properties online and rarely venture into shops (an admission from a high street agent) so I decided to find an estate agent who would get my property listed with the big online property specialists. ..Rightmove, zoopla and prime location etc..I decided on “Hatched” because of good reviews, service and price. Enquiries came as expected and we sold our £1m+ property without any hassle. This saved us an estimated £25k from a traditional agents fee.

Firefly Murcia Airport Desk Agent

This is a review for Firefly car rental at Murcia San Javier Airport and
I would like to comment on the rental desk staff.
I rent cars dozens of times a year both for work and pleasure. When I am picking up the bill I go for the best value...this means that I use budget brands. Firefly is a budget brand, after having problems with other budget brands I thought I’d try firefly.
I arrived late evening and one man was on duty and he was dealing with other customers. He apologised to me for the delay and said he would be with me shortly. Antonio, the agent then dealt with my rental..he was the most helpful, cheerful and pleasant agent that I have ever met.
He offered and explained the fuel and insurance/ cdw items on offer with NO hard sell. I informed him that I had my own cdw cover and unlike other companies he didn’t try to push their own cdw and understood that I had my own...(Like other companies firefly put a 1000euro block on my credit card because I didn’t take their insurance)
..He then completed the paperwork without any hassle...even giving me an upgrade. WELL DONE ANTONIO ...I hope that you attend to me in the future. As I write, I am still using the vehicle ..I will update about the rental experience when I have returned the car.
