Misleading ticket benefits and rude customer service

You'd expect that booking premium "flex" tickets with a Norwegian airline, on a route entirely within Norway, where the advertised benefits of that specific ticket & route are "Fast Track and Lounge Access" would give you access to a lounge - at least in Oslo, the biggest airport on the route.

But no, they don't - and you only discover that Wideroe don't have any lounges anywhere in Norway if you dig deep into the FAQ pages on their website, or complain on their chat service. With a 3+ hour wait at Oslo, we tried enquiring over Wideroe's chat and were abruptly cut off with "if you're not going to ask me any more questions I'm ending this chat now".. "clunk". Thanks Wideroe for your friendly service..

Review of Suitcase Travel

Helpful, friendly advice for our Havila holiday

I'd have no hesitation in recommending Suitcase Travel - we found them initially through one of Mike's blogs, highlighting the differences between Havila and Hurtigruten Norwegian voyages. I posted a question and Mike phoned me, so I was able to discuss our requirements and ask advice. Suitcase Travel were able to offer the same price as a direct booking, and with Mike's added advice and a few other benefits it made sense to book with them.

Mike's advice was spot-on, and we got the exact holiday we wanted. We could even have bought a complete flights-and-cruise custom package from him, but opted for just the cruise and got flights on airline points (Mike's advice: "remember it's a luxury, working ferry, not a cruise", was repeated at the welcome briefing onboard).

Overall - Highly recommended, particularly for the sound, personalised and friendly advice, with no "pushy" sales tactics.

Hey White Company, where's our £100 ?

Received a White Company gift voucher for £100 some years ago as a wedding gift for use in-store. It had no expiry date and so, with no stores near us, we kept it for a later date; assuming we could use it any time. Covid came along, my wife became wheelchair-bound & less mobile. After a house move we finally found ourselves near a White Company store so went in with our voucher - but they refused to take it, saying that "yes, the voucher didn't have an expiry date, but they'd decided to introduce one and so we'd lost our £100". A worthless dialog with customer services followed; they apparently published details of the new policy in store (unseen, of course, as we had none near us) and online. So it seems they've taken the £100, and given nothing in return .. now, hang on, there's a word for that??

Update: Don't be fooled into thinking I got a positive outcome from the White Company after a few DMs. I got a standard letter saying they'd been through a legal process and given due notice of their decision to expire the vouchers .. in effect "sorry, but you've lost your money".
Well, at least the owners will be pleased to have my £100 contribution to last year's £31.9m profit, and the £50m dividend they were able to pay themselves.

Hello, thank you for you review. I am sorry to see you are disappointed that your voucher is no longer valid. We introduced our gift cards in 2017 at which point we had stopped selling paper gift vouchers. We certainly didn't want to be the source of any disappointment and we set in place a 2-year transitional period where our customers could still redeem any paper vouchers, which was heavily advertised in our stores.
If you do wish to discuss this further I have reached out to you for further information.

Wish I’d used this years ago

Wish I’d used this years ago, it would have saved me a lot of money on a basic tax return. That said, I was able to refer to previous returns from my accountant.. particularly useful for the « additional information «  sections.

Review of Nationwide Pathology Limited

Reliable and Reasonably-Priced COVID Testing

Have used Nationwide Pathology for both fit-to-fly and Day 2 testing on several occasions having searched through many other options. Prices are very reasonable, test kits are dispatched same-day, and they include pre-paid Tracked 24 envelopes. Results have always come back by email and SMS within 2 days. They went above-and-beyond recently when Royal Mail delivered my test sample to them 20hrs late - NWP still got the results to me that same day in spite of it being New Year's eve. Would definitely use them again.

Great Value, Great Customer Service

Ordered an Orchard Eden toilet from Victoria Plum - after a relative recommended them. (Sale) price was excellent value, delivery quick - although they missed the target date and had to deliver later in the week. After a quick chat to Customer Services they refunded the delivery charge without any quibbles. The loo is perfect - very easy to fit, nice finish, looks good. Would recommend without hesitation and would buy again from them.
