Pushy

I did an on line quote for health insurance. I knew it would be expensive due to my age but wondered how much it would cost because atm I am healthy with no issues. Beware though if you try to get an on line quote because they will call you after, even if you didn't want them to. They are pushy, won't take no for an answer and I felt I had to be abrupt to end the call.

High Back Fabric Operator Chair

Ordering process was smooth and the order was delivered ahead of the expected time. Prices are reasonable and a wide selection. Delivery was good and the guy assembled the chair for me as I had paid for that not knowing if I could do it myself. The actual chair I'm not so pleased with and for this I marked the company down. The chair is uncomfortable and the arms (which cost more to add on) too low to actually rest my arms on. The looped arms might as well not be there. The back offers no lumbar support to be honest and it does feel as if the back isn't even on straight. It didn't cost all that much thankfully so I guess you get what you pay for. Overall I'm disappointed with my purchase and wouldn't recommend this particular chair especially to anyone sitting at a desk for any length of time other than occasional use

3m Cordless Pole Saw Starter Kit

The price and delivery time was excellent. Easy to put together and use. It does the job it was bought for but my only comment, which isn't negative, but to help anyone else wanting to buy one is that it's actually very top heavy when fully assembled. As a 5ft 2in older woman of average build I couldn't handle it on full extension. My son who is a strapping lad of over 6ft tall and stocky build also commented its heavy on the arms when fully extended. He completed the job for me though. Although I'm an older lady I am fit and strong so just be aware of my comments which I hope are helpful. I would still recommend it and buy it again

Good but let down by Royal Mail

Royal Mail delivery let you down on getting 5 stars due to their terrible delivery service. Price, range of products, ease of placing an order and your dispatch time was amazing but Royal Mail took 5 days to deliver which I think is unacceptable. I know you're not Royal Mail but it was your choice to use them for the delivery, not mine, so it reflects on you

Dog bathrobe

I ordered a dog bathrobe after finding an advert on Facebook with lots of good reviews. After about a week I thought hold on that delivery is taking a while and did some research on the net only to find loads of very bad reviews on here which worried me. I started to think the item would never arrive and it was a scam but it has arrived today after 2 weeks and the item is exactly like advertised. I am happy with my purchase. I can't award 5 star because of the slow delivery. However, my experience wasn't as bad as I've seen on here. Maybe I was just lucky. I ordered an XL dog bathrobe for my male Rottie and it fits good

I did have an issue with delivery in that the items didn't arrive on the chosen date but it was the week before Xmas and it was a very busy time. The items were still frozen and of good quality despite arriving a day later than I had requested. One item was missing but Eileen was helpful and refunded me for that without hesitation. I am sorry I couldn't give 5 stars because of the delivery issues which I accept was the couriers but I have to base my review on the whole experience. Overall happy (hence 4 star) and I would order again. I have ordered before from Bradleys and there was no issue with my order on that occasion so it was down to ordering at a very busy time of the year and issues with the courier

Poor customer service

I recently went to John Lewis at Bond Street, Chelmsford, Essex to buy a washing machine. Hardly any models out to browse and although several staff present, all were too busy on their mobile phones or chatting to help me. One lady with a walking stick, who was staff, was just sitting in the area ignoring me too. Despite me giving buying signals to get help, not one made eye contact with me or asked if they could help. I eventually left and bought one on line from AO instead. It's put me off going to John Lewis for any such future purchases to be honest

Reasonable

Stopped here for a meal. The service was great, food enjoyable, easy parking, prices not bad but the overall experience spoiled by being sat next to a table with a noisy toddler. Couldn't hear ourselves speak through the whole meal. Not everyone wants to have other people kids banging things around and making a noise right next to them while they eat. Was plenty of other tables too so not sure why we was put there. Maybe ask patrons next time where they would like to sit?

Broke TV

Bought a TV in April 2021 and May 2022 its gone wrong. All the company can do is put you through to the manufacturer, which judging by the accent wasn't in UK. Can't understand a word the person is saying, sending links to look at my broken tv which are supported by my phone. The tv has no sound or picture, why do they need to see that? What's wrong with sending an engineer? I'm approaching 70 with a husband that has had a stroke. I'm not familiar with technology like younger people. So unless you are, you'll get little support when things go wrong. I was offered a discount off a new one but no thank you I don't want to have this again. A TV should last longer than 13 months

I truly am sorry to hear about the issues you are having with this TV. Upon checking the warranty on the TV has expired on 12/04/2022 so any repairs on the TV would not be chargeable with the manufacturer. I really am sorry for any issues caused and as a retailer if you do have this repaired we will be able to offer a contribution towards the repair for you.

Been using click and collect since the pandemic started and its been good but today my experience was poor. To start with the guy has a gate so far into the road, to stop people entering, that you literally have to swing out to go around it. Not easy in a long car. Today as I parked up the guy wearing a mark stood at the van, indicating for me to wind my window down, requiring me to shout at him and hear muffled sounds back because he was so far away. I'm partially deaf and couldn't hear a word he was saying. I was told, like I was in the Army, to park in a certain bay and stay with my car until the shopping was brought to me, When I saw him bring the shopping to my car, I opened my door and was shouted at to stay in my car until told I can get out. Bear in mind this is the supermarkets car park and people are walking around there any way. There really no need to treat customers like they are lepers. That's my last click and collect. I'm not paying 50p to collect and pay higher prices too when I am treated like I have the lurgy. Things not available mostly and unsatisfactory substitutions most of the time which I have put up with but not any more after today. Aldi for me from now on where the prices are cheaper and I can get everything I want

Top store

Aldi at army and navy Chelmsford gets my thumbs up. Great prices, helpful staff and during the dark early days of the pandemic always had a good selection of food with minimal queues. / restrictions. I can do all my shopping there and it's easy to park. I particularly like the trolley cleaning facilities and hand sanitizer at the entrance. Everything you need under one roof.

I ordered dog food and cat litter a good few weeks ago and with the current pandemic there were delays for it to reach me which I expected but I was very happy that the company continually kept me in the loop emailing updates, offered me the chance to cancel if I wish and didn't take the money until it was delivered. Good prices and a big thank you for my order - it arrived today. Well done!

Highly recommended

I 1st heard about this company through a friend at dog training. She gave a good review of the company so I decided to give them a try and I won't be looking back. Great food prepared for my dogs under strict conditions ensuring my dogs get a fully balanced, tasty and nutritious meal. The tubs of food come in 500g amounts - so just a question of thawing and tipping a tray into my dogs bowl twice a day. The dogs love it too and eagerly demolish every morsel. The staff are friendly, very helpful and knowledgeable too. If you're considering starting your dogs on raw or looking for a new supplier I can highly recommend this company

Disgusted

Upgraded in Feb 2019 and a few weeks ago it stopped charging. To cut a long story short Vodafone sent my phone for repair only to return it saying I'd damaged it (which I knew I hadn't) and as such was not under warranty. They also stated the repair if had of been done would have cost hundreds. The store refers you to customer service and neither wants to know saying buy a new phone. Then I took the phone to Samsung and they confirmed the issue is a phone fault, not caused by damage and repaired it free within a few days. Vodafone are liars and cheats. I intend to take this further because they really are charlatan ripping off their customers

Unhelpful unfreindly driver

Had a delivery today of a big heavy parcel. Usually the driver puts the box inside my doorway but today he left it outside and offered no assistance to me what so ever. I know delivery is 'to the door' but every driver so far has popped it just inside my door to my hallway.A huge heavy parcel and me a 65 year old small woman and he couldn't help me. Left it outside with me struggling to get it inside so I could close my door and just drove off. Very unhelpful

Never again - Chelmsford

Been previously and was happy with Louise so booked again but this time was not Louise. This time I was very unhappy and wont be going again. I went for a trim and basically all she did was cut along the bottom and sides. My hair is long and layered and she never tidied up the layers at all - £44 wasted. The person doing my hair did not introduce herself and so I have no idea what her name was. I arrived in time for my appointment but seems she didn't have time to complete with me and wanted to pass me over to a junior, who seemed unsure what to do, to tong my hair. At this stage I lost confidence and said leave it, paid and left

Never again

Its been some years since I had new glasses and the varifocals I was using had a scuffed lens so I went to Specsavers at Lakeside shopping centre in Essex. At 1st I was impressed by the service but that soon changed. I told the guy sorting my glasses I must have Zeiss lenses as I tried others before and couldn't get on with them-he nodded and said ok Zeiss. I chose frames and paid and had an appointment to go back to collect the specs...and there the trouble began. I was handed the glasses and that was it--I left and couldn't see out of one eye, everything blurred. I went right back and at that stage was told I had one ear higher than the other. The guy bent the arms and said that will be ok, they are straight on your face now. How ever they were still not good and I got a terrible headache. I tried for a few days but within minutes I had a headache and felt sick. I tried calling them and just kept getting to leave a message and they will call back-but they never did. Eventually I went to my local branch in Chelmsford. The staff there were helpful and tried to sort things but it transpired I had been sold non Zeiss lenses despite being told that's what I had. Several visits back and forth to try and sort things to no avail and then I was told they don't sell Zeiss so I got a refund. I went to Boots and guess what--they gave me Zeiss lenses and I'm 100% happy with great clear vision and no headaches. Specsavers at Lakeside miss-sold me a product telling me it was something it wasn't. I'll never go to them again

Express delivery?

Based on an email I got from them offering me free express delivery (1 to 3 days) I placed an order (SO349165) for dog food. I placed the order on 23rd April and today its 26th and still no sign of the delivery. The tracking link says its on its way to the courier but still not with the courier. I placed hat order in good faith that I would get the food delivered in 1 to 3 days, as they state on their web site, to suit my schedule but its let me down big time. In addition the web site was updated and I had to re-register all my details. The web site is very slow to respond as well. Overall really not happy and just want my items now and will never order from them again. I just hope they arrive in good condition or I really will be fuming
