Review of DHL
Very poor experience with DHL
Very poor experience with DHL. I booked a parcel collection through eBay for a Monday and no one showed up. This repeated every single day for five days in a row.
When I called customer service on the Friday, an agent named Jane admitted the driver had logged false “attempts” on Tuesday and Wednesday, claiming no one was home — despite someone being present all day. GPS data confirmed the driver wasn’t even near my address.
Even after being reassured the parcel would “100%” be collected by 8 PM Friday, no one came.
This level of service and dishonesty is unacceptable. I wasted a full week waiting for DHL to fulfil a simple collection.
The same issue happened last month, so I will not be using DHL again. For reference, this was in the DA (Dartford) postcode area, which may be down to the local driver.
Review of UberEATS
5 months and counting...
We ordered a group takeaway (4 accounts) from UberEATS in August 2022, and when the payment came through, we were individually charged the entire amount (about £72 extra each), so we ended up paying £352 between us instead of the £110 the order should have been.
(On top of that, the food arrived over an hour after the order time.)
UberEATS initially told us that this was a holding charge and that it will settle itself once the payments came out of our accounts. It did not!
We've all tried to contact UberEATS (via the app and Twitter), but they continue giving us the same canned responses: "we appreciate your patience in this subject," while refusing to provide any meaningful support or make any effort to reimburse our money.
We have been at this for 5 months (Jan 2023) and have made no progress…
If at all possible, AVOID! Also, if anyone knows of any legal action we can pursue in the UK to get our money back, that would be fantastic.

Incoherent customer service
Poor and confusing customer service. We bought a washer/dryer from Curry's that turned out to be defective (x3 separate engineer visits in total to confirm this).
We were told that we couldn't get a refund until the defective item was collected, and we were given a collection date a week away (bearing in mind we have been without a working machine for over a month now). I planned my week so that I would be at home and available for collection. By mid afternoon on the day of collection, when noone had turned up, I contacted Curry's to get an update, only to be told that they had no record of the collection.
We have now been given another date for collection but the 'support agent' was unwilling to send / provide written confirmation of the collection. I now have very little faith in their service and even if they do fulfil the ‘new collection date’, we will have been without a washing machine for a total of two months before receiving a refund. What’s so frustrating is that I cannot understand why such a large company is struggling to effectively communicate and fulfil what should be a very simple transaction.
If you have the option of purchasing goods elsewhere, I’d encourage you to do so.

Refund received 3 days later… Two weeks after placing order.

Autoglass made it relatively easy to book an appointment at a suitable location and time that suited me (I've been told by a friend that the process is a lot more streamline online).
At booking, i was given a 4 hour slot in which to expect the technician to arrive, lowered to a 2 & half hour slot on the morning the work was due. This is where they lost a star, because the technician arrived late (after the 2 & half hour slot) without explanation. I would have appreciated at least being kept in the loop. That being said, once the technician did turn up, he was friendly enough and got on with the work without fuss.
