I have been mulling switching mobile service from a major US carrier for years, hesitant because I feared encountering service issues. Three weeks ago I finally followed through. My 3 year old unlocked Motorola phone was compatible, my number was portable, and the activation via the mailed SIM card was a breeze. Once the card was inserted, it took less than 2 hours to switch service to Twigby. Because I am still on the same national network as before, I cannot tell the difference in call quality or data speed. I briefly chatted with Twigby customer service regarding intl calling. I encountered no wait time, and the CSR instantly answered my question.
Twigby offers some free intl calling. I have to call a US based access number, and the call quality is not great (compared to calls made with WhatsApp), but since it is a bonus feature that I didn't have with my previous carrier, I can't really knock Twigby's rating for it.
|n summary, I have the same national service coverage and quality as before, with double the amount of data, at less than 29% of my previous monthly cost. My only regret is that I didn't switch 3 years ago.
