Deliveries from Vinatis are becoming much more prompt. Previously it would be two weeks or more before receiving the wines - which was fine, because I knew they were coming into the UK from Europe - but now it's only a matter of days before they arrive. Excellent! The 2023 vintage of Villa des Anges Cabernet Sauvignon is a little more edgy than the 2022, which has been delivered to me over several years, but that's fine. It will round off in time to come, and it's not a bad thing to have a bit of challenge rather than typical cabernet sauvignon fruitiness/sweetness after all this time.

Mid Stay Parking is definitely much more convenient than Long Stay at Edinburgh Airport. The long trek with heavy luggage - especially on the way home - was an unwelcome aspect of my travels previously. As long as the cost differential isn't too great, I'll use Mid Stay in future. There are still some rough surfaces to negotiate with wheeled luggage, though.

Since I last wrote one of these reviews, NewsTeam have been excellent in delivering my weekly Times promptly on a Saturday. It's a relief to have it delivered early enough that I don't have to guess whether or not to buy a (replacement) copy when I'm out from 0830 onwards! Thank you.

I was reassured by the speed with which my claim was dealt with, especially as it involved the death of one of my dogs, which of course has been a difficult time for me.

I very much like the way that the wine bottles are packaged entirely in cardboard, with no tape or staples involved. And the sticky address labels come off easily too.

The delivery was as notified the day before, and I have been drinking the same wine for some years now; I can rely on it to be good.

I hadn't heard of Never Fully Dressed. I was browsing in a branch of Harvey Nichols one Sunday when I saw a sequinned wrap skirt which caught my eye. On examining it, I found that it was very well made, with a pleasing heft to it - not the lightweight, rougher version of sequinned clothing that is to be found all over less expensive shops in the run-up to Christmas. I noted the brand name and went home to look it up.

I was delighted to find the same product online, and considerably less expensive. I ordered it, and it arrived very promptly, beautifully wrapped. I'm very happy with it.

Scottish Power recently informed me that they were going to raise my Direct Debit payment by a considerable amount. I resent having my money manipulated by others, so decided to choose a new amount myself. Through online management of the Direct Debit payment I chose the new amount, but had to pay a one-off sum of over £200. My account was only around £35 in deficit this month. Although I know prices have risen markedly from 1st January, I find this sort of treatment by Scottish Power heavy-handed. And don't get me started on their telephone "service" .... ; that's another story!

Good to see that pedestrian-specific walkways have been introduced, with slightly smoother surfaces than the roadways, so that wheeling heavy suitcases is easier now.
BUT - toilets are needed in the long-stay car-park! Those who live locally would use public transport to get to the airport; those using the long-stay car-park have driven a considerable distance. The long walk to the terminal, with heavy luggage, is difficult enough without trying to complete it with virtually crossed legs! Getting out of a warm car in cold weather compounds the problem.

My order was for a dozen bottles of wine - a brand that I know well. The price was good and the delivery fine, though not speedy. My reservation about ordering again will be the massive amount of plastic used to protect the bottles in transit. I don't know if it's recyclable, but it doesn't look or feel as if it is.

When I arrived at the entrance barrier as usual, I paused to let the system recognise my car and activate my pre-booked stay. Nothing happened. I waited. Nothing happened. So I pressed the button for a ticket, parked (still too far from the terminal; shuttle buses should be re-introduced) and went off on my trip. Two days later I returned, drove to the exit barrier, put my ticket in - and was presented with the information that I had a £120.00 debt to discharge. As it had been a long day and was now dark, I was disgruntled to say the least. After a long sigh, I pushed the button to audio-connect with a human being. He checked my registration plate number and my surname, and my ticket reappeared, the barrier was raised and I could exit. Thank you to the helpful, friendly, prompt person on the other end - but why hadn't the system worked in the first place?

Another beautifully packaged delivery with no tape or unduly sticky labels needing to be wrestled with! This is how all orders should be packaged nowadays - just cardboard. All the bottles were well supported and the packaging was very easy to dis-assemble for recycling. (The wine's excellent, too - but I've reviewed it before!)

I recently received, very promptly and well packaged, a half case of Bollinger champagne. It was on special offer and I appreciated having it pointed out by Simon, my wine advisor. It really is a wonderfully assertive champagne!

When the delivery service works, it's great. When it doesn't, there seems to be no way of putting it right: if a delivery is missed, I'm without a paper for that week and can only have a credit added to my bill.

The telephone service only gives recorded messages of expected times for late deliveries; if your paper still hasn't arrived by then, you're "stuck".

I do appreciate having my weekly delivery, though, and when it works I'm content to pay the ever-increasing charges.

Just a few lines to compliment Simon Berry on his telephone manner and helpful advice: he has stepped into Pedro's shoes as Wine Advisor very well. It can't be an easy job, "cold calling" customers all the time, and the way in which he does so is impressive. Well done, Simon, and thank you!
