It pains me to write this but I have been Ripped off.... I booked a holiday to maspalomas princess hotel, which I have booked 30+ times over the years!! We had to move dates (covid) we upgraded to tabaiba princess and paid for extra legroom seats. We had to move again (covid) this time we had to pay £200.... our friends who are doing the same trip came over on sat night, they said are you still in Tabaiba side of hotel, I checked on app, low and behold our extra legroom seats have gone and we have been reverted back to Maspalomas princess side of hotel. I "looked" at swapping room, price £321.36.... I decided NOT to book upgrade.
Monday morning I get a demand for payment, when I finished work, I called waited an hour to get through, went through whole scenario, he put me on hold, HE dropped call.... I was livid, Tues AM another demand for payment, I called again when I got home, spoke to a call handler, pretending to be my friend, put me on hold came back and said I had 24 hours from when I booked the upgrade 26th pm.... which I DID NOT BOOK.... I said I didn't get an email till 28th (Mon am) and I called Monday night, to which the call handler dropped call.... he advised me as had BOOKED the upgrade I had to pay for it or cancel the holiday, some friend!!! I assured him I DID NOT confirm the upgrade I only looked at prices, he said there was no alternative, as we are going with friends I have had to put £321.36 on credit card which I can not afford.
I have now cancelled my August holiday booking ref: 10299195 as I'm so angry, losing another £400 I'd rather never use Tui again.... bizarrely I contacted the hotel, they charge €10 per day to upgrade to Tabaiba side. By all means contact me to say you will cancel the upgrade I did not want I will stay in naspalomas princess!!
