Review of Furdeco

Rated 2 out of 5 stars

A very limited service, poor customer care.

As a self employed heating engineer, my customers expect me to be able to supply materials and complete work within specified time frames. As such, I expect to be able to order materials from my suppliers, and have them delivered within specified time frames, within reason. In this case, this order was placed approximately 3 - 4 weeks before the materials were needed, giving what I thought was plenty of time to arrange a suitable delivery.

Unfortunately, the choice of my supplier to use Furdeco for their delivery led to a massive headache for me. Furdeco offered me delivery dates that suited them, but didn't suit my customer or myself. They were utterly unsympathetic to my needs, or my customers needs. Their decision on which days they would deliver on was apparently determined by their route planning, which is understandable; however, if they don't plan to be in your area on that day, or that week, you have no chance of getting your goods, and you have no recourse whatsoever. After several phonecalls, where in each one I made my needs explicitly clear, I was effectively told that if I didn't like it, that was tough, and I could complain to my vendor. I was fobbed off with a delivery date much later than suited anyone but Furdeco, and a promised callback from a manager never happened.

To be clear, this is not a true "nationwide" seven day service; it's a limited service, and there's a huge level of uncertainty that comes with that, that you don't get with larger courier companies.

On the upside, the two gentlemen who actually eventually delivered the goods were helpful, and waited long enough for me to inspect them, but that was the only positive point in my whole interaction with Furdeco.

Review of Go-Electrical

No Problems At All

Got my order in good time, well packaged, and at the best price I could find anywhere. The people at Go-Electrical gave clear and frequent updates on the progress of the order and delivery, and I really can't fault them on anything. Would certainly use again.

Couldn't be happier.

Everything I ordered came quicker than expected, well packaged, and in perfect condition. The delivery driver helped carry the bulky and heavy part into the house without any issues.

Review of DinoPC

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

Very impressed but would have liked a little more communication.

Can't fault DinoPC for their prices, website is pretty clear and user friendly, and the system, when received, was excellently packaged, in perfect condition, and extremely well built. I was actually staggered by how TIDY the interior was, and I've had custom PC's built before, by professionals, that looked nowhere near as good.

Everything was set up and ready to run, as would be expected. No problems with the "plug'n'play". One thing I would love, especially as I am considering purchasing again with Dino, is if, during the customisation process, you provide the option to specify drive partitioning - a terabyte HDD is great until you try to defrag it all at once, and it would be much easier for you guys to set up partitions during initial install than it is for the customer to scratch Windows and start again.

I would have also liked to have heard a little more about just where my order was - I found that nine days after placing the order, even taking in to account that it was a Saturday it was submitted, I was a little miffed to have heard nothing, especially with the one week turnaround option. I know things like this can be a logistical nightmare for companies, but an automated email to say the system is being built / has been built / is awaiting dispatch, would have been fantastic.

All in all though, I will be back at DinoPC soon.
