wrong address - wrong day

Evri have one job to do and that's deliver the parcel(s) to the correct address on the day they say they will.

We have our regular courier who is great and then we have the others. Not only do they deliver the parcel(s) on the wrong day if at all, they also deliver them to the wrong address that is sometimes miles away.

Today was no different.

The last mile is important

The last mile is important

Office shoes are good. Unfortunately thats’s not the problem it’s the last mile that’s causing most of their issues and their Customer Service could be better.

OFFICE use Yodel as their courier and that’s where their trouble begins.

In my case Yodel failed to deliver to my house as their driver couldn’t read a sat-nav so I booked the parcel to be delivered to one of their local collection stores. They even failed to deliver it to their own store and then immediately returned the parcel to OFFICE without contacting me at all.

OFFICE Customer Services couldn’t guarantee a new delivery would arrive before Christmas and as they only use YodeL, I asked for a refund. The Customer Service person on the Chat then basically stopped responding and then ended the chat. So not great there either.

OFFICE you may have a good product, but if you can’t fulfil it, then you are always going to get bad reviews.

Words escape me

Words escape me

Not only can Yodel not deliver to my address, they can’t even deliver to their collections stores.

After failing for the fifth time in a row to deliver to our address, despite all the delivery details being correct, I opted for a collection from a Yodel store. I received an email confirming the request to deliver the parcel to their collection store and they failed to deliver the parcel.

“18/12/23 19:43 - Delivery booked”

“19/12/23 10:18 - Delivery attempted please web chat us”

“19/12/23 10:18 - Unable to deliver returning to sender”

Seriously what are you doing, Its your own collection store!

Why Can Yodel not delivery a simple…

Why Can Yodel not delivery a simple parcel.

All you want from a delivery company is to deliver your parcel.

You would think that a delivery driver could use a sat nav, read a map or even use a telephone if they were lost. Not Yodel, for some reason they have a blackspot as far as our address is concerned. One that no other company has.

Every time I get a delivery via Yodel they fail to make or even attempt a delivery. This time I tracked the driver on their app and when we were next, suddenly nothing, and I get a message on the package tracking that the driver needs more information about our address. Useless would be an understatement.

This is the response you get every time:

“Thank you for your patience. I can see that our driver tried to deliver your parcel on 18-Dec-2023 at 19:2. We weren't able to deliver your parcel as our driver was unable to locate your property. Our driver's SAT-NAV location doesn't match with your local area, which may be a result of the driver being unfamiliar with this location.”

Seriously: Employ people who can use a sat-nav or google maps. How hard can it be.

Of the last four parcels sent via Yodel, Three were returned to the sender as incomplete or recalled because Yodel could not deliver. They were all delivered within one day by alternate delivery companies and one was sent to a depot that I had to go and pick up myself.

Beware extended warranty and Price…

Beware extended warranty and Price Match Promise

Snow and Rock are making a big thing of their “Price Match Promise” and there “Extended Warranty” promises. However, they don’t actually mean anything. Try and request a price match and see what happens or worse buy something and expect to get the actual extended warranty.

This is basically what happened when I tried to get a price match before I placed an order for an Garmin watch.

I asked about a price match and provide a link to Blacks website who had the identical watch and delivery terms. It was £10 cheaper. Not a lot but still.


S&R words: Regarding Garmin, these items are outside of our price match promise policy.

Me: It doesn’t say that on the price match promise details page. There are no exceptions there and it states you price match against Blacks.

S&R then posed some details that are not visible on the product details page on their website and are only visible if you open the description tab for the watch details page itself. This states that

No further offers or discounts apply.

This product has a 2 year warranty

Me: On your product page it clearly states that the product has:

3-year extended warranty
Price match promise
100 day returns & easy returns collection
All with easy email sign-up

You can’t just override that by some notes under a hidden description tab.

S&R words: Within our price match terms and conditions, it is advised that once we make our decision we reserve the right to amend or withdraw the Price Match Promise. 

So there you are. S&R promotions are obviously not worth a bean or what they appear.

Purchase from Blacks instead.

Yodel incapable of delivering to our…

Yodel incapable of delivering to our address.

Yodel for what ever reason are incapable of delivering a parcel to our address, so much so that given a choice we avoid ordering from any company that uses them.

They always follow the same journey.
Yodel collect the parcel, it's then sent to their regional hub.
Yodel then send the Parcel to the local dispatch depot and that’s where the problems begin.
The parcel is scanned out for delivery and you wait in. Nobody turns up and you check and it says failed to delivery no one home. In fact when you contact them and they check it turns out their drivers have tried to deliver to a completely different location as shown by their own Geocodes from their scans.
This continues for multiples deliveries until I contact the supplier and cancel the order. The supplier then rearranges with a different delivery company and it arrives the next day.

Yodel always say they have taken on board the feedback and modify their process, but do nothing as it’s the same next time!

8/12/23: Just an update: Whilst I avoid using Yodel a supplier recently sent me a parcel via Yodel. Yet Gaian it didn't arrive.

Despite providing additional details what three words and numerous calls they have failed again. Item was returned to shipper who have arranged delivery with DPD. It arrived the following day without any trouble.

You can tell a company by what they do when something goes wrong.

Viking delivered a box of paper towels rather than the box of A4 paper that I had ordered. When they did respond they didn’t believe me and asked for an image of what was delivered. They then refused to send out the A4 paper until they had collected the towels and then only when they have the towels back will they credit my account for the A4 paper that I have not received but have been charged for so that I can reorder it.

Simply put they acknowledge that they have made a mistake and I have to wait until they receive back something that I didn’t order before they credit me back for the paper that they charged for that they didn’t deliver.

Oh and then I can re-order the A4 paper again if I wish.

There are much better companies out there that don’t make you suffer for their incompetence.

Update: 26/10/23:
Viking have contacted me and have rectified the issues, therefore, I feel that they deserve some credit and I have changed my experience to three stars.

Misrepresentation and awful customer service

I purchased a Hybridge jacket in red as a Christmas present for my wife. I mistakenly thought that Canada Goose were synonymous with quality, I was wrong.

After my wife had worn the jacket a few times we started to notice that the the internal black fabric started showing through the outer red fabric making it look stained and dirty - not what you expect from a Canada Goose!

I contacted Canada Goose approximately two months after I purchased the jacket and I sent it back to their warranty department for review. Unfortunately, their response was more than a little disappointing.

According to Canada Goose this is what it’s designed to do. Quote from Canada Goose: “The fabric of the HyBridge Lite is thinner in order to make them lightweight. Due to the colour contrast of red and black, down underneath is visible and come off as slightly black, taking on the reflection of the black material inside. As the red material is lightweight you can also see the black material behind. What your wife is experiencing occurs because of the design of the coat and this does not represent a manufacturing defect.”

Funny it doesn’t say on the website that this coat will look shabby and dirty after a couple of weeks!!

I did try to publish this review with photographs of the jacket on their website. However, Canada Goose rejected it as it "did not meet their website guidelines“ presumably the truth. So much for independently verified reviews.

Absolutely awful.

Cancelled the order.

Not the greatest customer service. Looking at the recent reviews they seem have gone down hill recently.

Selling what they don't have

I placed an order for an iPhone 5 case. The website took my order and said it would be despatched in 2-3 day. Two weeks later I chased the order only to be informed that the cases have not yet arrived in stock and will be a further three weeks. No emails or notifications of the delays or stock levels - very poor service.

I use a Mac and the website had an invisible "add to bag" button on the product details page, which was confusing. Standard delivery could be quicker but other than that i've not had any issues.

Very poor customer service and terrible courier service

Their Courier said they had left the goods in our porch, which we don't have, then blankly refused to deliver to our address after I complained. Now LEDhut are refusing to refund until they get the items back, which I've never had and are still with their courier!

Update: Six weeks after order and still refusing to refund even though they never delivered anything - Don't touch
