Hard to cancel a subscription

The Economist is one of the best magazines out there for its content on politics, business, lifestyle and technology. However as others have said, their cancellation process almost borders on scam because there is no option to cancel online and I had to end up chatting to an agent who pursued me to continue the subscription until I had to insist on cancellation.

£20 per day and no less

£20 per day is the only option for paying to park at Ashford Surrey near the Tesco Express. This is very shady because this is not made clear and bold upfront until you park and go up close to read the parking information signs. By then you are trapped as there is no grace period mentioned

Can be trusted

Rewards for surveys are always paid out instantly, personal data seems to be protected and not shared. No spamming of inbox every other day. My only gripe is to improve the UI for phone screens. The drop-down and select type of questions are most annoying to use.

Turn up at your door & pressure you into buying their services

A team with this van turned up at our door offering their services. Despite telling them that we didn't want to make an unplanned expenditure, they insisted and offered to take credit card. After settling on a price they washed our windows, facias and soffits. They also pressured us into fence treatment. At the end of the job, they said their card machine didnt work so we were forced to pay by bank transfer. Perhaps the card machine was just a story. My main gripe was that the windows were not wiped down with a sqeegee leading to water marks all over all of our windows. This looks worse than before, when I contacted them, they ignored my calls and so I persisted to text them. They texted back with a date that they will come back to rectify it but never turned up. All the time during the work, they claimed that they were doing me a great favour and I was lucky to have them give me a bargain price. When they didnt turn up, I asked them about when they would come, they now showed irritation alleging my bad "attitude" for pressing them and offered me a partial refund. When I agreed to the refund, they changed their mind and offered to come back to clean the windows on their terms ie a date they would return to the area. I agreed to this and this was meant to be a week ago to the day I am writing this review.
However now there are no responses to any texts sent to them and never returned. They have probably blocked my number. My neighbours have also been affected by them. Do not use their services when they turn up at your door unless you can oversee and supervise their work. They appear pretty friendly otherwise.

Good Customer service team

Kept their word on the fixed price tariff but more important fixed me smart meter so I don't have to submit meter readings anymore. The annoying part is that they have not been able to get my Gas meter even after changing it out connected to my smart hub device. Having contacted their customer team on two occasions there is no response.

Smart meter replaced & fixed price tariff

Stayed within fixed rate tariff and gave me a good deal for the year. Replaced my smart meter and worked out the issues with smart metering.

Great at Marketing, Not good for follow up

I was invited to switch over to ScottishPower from Octopus at a marketing campaign they were running at my local Asda. The Scottishpower rep did a good job at selling me the contract committing to a fixed price deal for 1 year however the follow up that involved my meter reading submissions and billing did not take place for over 3 weeks. I received an email from Scottish power informing me to expect a visit from the Scottishpower meter inspections in order to figure why they are unable to read my meters. The online app has not worked for me to take my meter reading. The direct debit for the first month was promptly debited though. I hope they are able to resolve this else I will go back to Octopus after one year.

Surveys are relevant most of the time

Yougov surveys are relevant to my everyday life in Britain about 70% of the time. The interface varies from great to not bad. At times the surveys try to get feedback on my views from my morning cereal to my thoughts on private medical insurance but sometimes asking me about pop culture that only teenagers would be keen on. I cannot be a 65 year old talking about cruise ship culture and a 16 year old talking about Taylor Swift gigs within days. But overall the surveys are relevant and most ask about age groups.

iphone12 pro camera lens crack…

My iphone12 pro had a cracked camera lens that Apple claimed would charge me £489 to change out. iSmash gave me an appointment and had it fixed while waiting. The new lens had a small micro fine scratch and this was then immediately changed out on the spot. Loved the customer service.

Insurance Company ratings are only meaningfull when a claim is made

Been with Churchill for a few years now and no complaints yet because the only way to know how good your experience is with an insurance company is when you have to make a claim (touchwood!)
Just wondering why Churchill has complicated their insurance products by branding some budget policies as “Churchill Essentials”

Leaking Bath problem was just diagnosed

Had a leaking bath upstairs and water dripped through the ceiling. Homeserve sent out plumber 3 days later, It turned out to be the caulking silicone seal around the bath was worn and needed resealing. Homeserve’s plumber said they don’t do silicone work and I found that strange coming from a plumber.

Amazing service and quick delivery

Amazing service and quick delivery. Alex Wilkins and the sales team kept the communication going and delivery/pick up on the committed date. The staff and crew at the warehouse were also super helpful in helping us load the oven and microwave despite the tight spaces in our car. I would recommend RDO to my friends and family.
