Excellent service and positive attitude …

We have had 3 solar projects managed and installed by Steve and his team. My experience has been very positive working with him; he provided a prompt competitive quotation, he kept us informed during the installation, and overall he has an excellent customer service manner.
One project involved a frame for the Solar Panels being set up on a flat roof which was challenging and he mannaged to achieve the goal and produce the required Kw power output.
I would highly recommend Oxford Green Energy for Solar installations to others.

I have used Hotels.com (expedia) for…

I have used Hotels.com (expedia) for business for more than 12 years- mainly due the "one free night atfer 10 stays" reward program.
The service and booking is very good and I have only once been let down by the booking (the hotel was at fault).
The loss of the reward program is major setback so I have started using other hotel booking platforms...

Minus five stars (if possible) DO NOT USE EDF

Minus five stars (if possible). DO NO USE EDF stick with Scottish Power, Eon or Octopus,
The worst Electricty supply company I have dealt with for years and I have accounts with all the big suppliers.
Shockingly unhelpful customer service who just want to read a script or sell you something more. Once your signed up thats it.... they take your money but give you no help.
It took almost 12 months to install smart meters - even after The Ombudsman fined them and told them to do so!
They will not offer an export rate for the solar panels we had installed. Even though thier advertising is full of "get a smart meter" and "We are the green energy company"; all sales and marketing waffle.
No reply no help no service uterly useless. I cant wait to get out of contract with you.
Avoid the hassel go with a company with real customer service that want to help you.

I have recently opened a chase online…

I have recently opened a chase online account as the savings rates were good.
So far so good, payments from my other account when striaght in and tracking is easy. I have niot yet tried to use an app online.
There does not appear to be any physical Branches to visit (not that many bank branches are left anyway in the UK) so you are dependant on phone in customer service. I might be interested in other products as well...
We will see how the service improves.

State your exit fee and we will terminate Bionic

We have had a "contract" for a year and we wanted to terminate as the building was being converted to flats, we have been told that we cannot terminate for another 11 months?. You state there is an "exit fee" which is fine - please state it and we will pay the fee just to get rid of Bionic. This is not acceptable.

Thank you for your feedback. We’d like to clarify how this works across the business energy market.

When you first queried ending your contract, you didn’t mention that this was due to a change of tenancy. Business energy contracts have a 0-day cooling-off period, which means termination is not possible once agreed. You can find this outlined on the OFGEM website.

However, in cases where a business moves premises or ceases trading, the supplier can log what’s called a Change of Tenancy. This isn’t a termination, but rather a change in who is responsible for the supply. To process this, suppliers will ask for supporting documentation such as a solicitor’s letter, an end of lease, or a surrender of lease.

This isn’t unique to Bionic - it’s a standard industry practice applied by all energy providers. Once a Change of Tenancy is confirmed, the contract becomes null and void without any financial penalties.

Good installers with excellent communication

I selected NGRE Ltd from three other suppliers in the Oxfordshire area. Overall communication was good for the quotation and up to the installation. The panels and electrical connection was all completed in a day, the system was up and running when completed.
A few days delay to finish off the work the following week - but no major issues.
It was good to have a detailed explanation of the workings from both the Sales manager and the company Owner. I am happy to recommend NGRE on the basis of the installation.

Tea at the Randolph Hotel (Alice) in Oxford

We made a booking for afternoon tea at "The Alice" for a Birthday celebration, which is a room in the Randolph Hotel off Beaumont street in Oxford.
We intially walked into the resturant - as there was no signage or help from front of house staff, however after asking at the bar, we were directed to a back room where we were offered a table.
The room was clean and pleasantly decorated but the table was far too high and chairs rediculously low making practical use of the table difficult.
Tea came on one, three layered stand which was pleasantly presented, with as much tea and coffee as requested.
We were charged £80 for two with a £10 service charge. A steep cost for what we were given, but I suppose that this service depends on the reputation of the Randolph Hotel.

Good tools at the top end of tool makes.

I have had several Draper tools over the last few years. The hand tools are at the top end and I have used thier 1700w concrete breaker, generator and 2000w thicknesser. All very good tools which have proved relaiable. You pay a bit more for them but they are worth the extra cost.

We have been using the Beefeater chain…

We have been using the Beefeater chain for number of years with various frends and family members. The resturants were previously very good value offering full meals at disccunted prices - we even joined the rewards club.
After covid most of the reductions seem to have been removed or considerably reduced. There is no top drinks or chips any more. The worst thing is that the portion sizes have been reduced. I counted only 9 chunky chips with my much reduced steak last visit. Even the tiny salad helping is extra. We had to come home and eat something else last time we visited a Beefeater. Chips cost very little to produce - This is no longer good value food.

BAD Experience - 2 hour wait - DO NOT USE

Good drop off at Gatwick - Although signs of the later issue as the man sitting on a canvas stool did not have the booking record....
BUT ON RETURN more than 2 hour wait. None of them want to help you. Several phone calls to thier "office" in Horley, but no one could actually tell me where it was or who runs it. All staff have heavy foreign accents and conveniently "dont understand" when you express some impatience.
A bad experince overall. A Micky Mouse outfit - We will NOT be using this lot again.

HG takeover of Buildbase in Cowley

I have had an account with Huws Gray for about10 years and spent quite lot of money on building materials with them in several locations.
Huws Gray took over Ridgeons in the East of England in 2019 and made good job of taking on the customers.
In 2022 Huws Gray took over Buildbase in Cowley Oxford. This has been successful and the store has been upgraded. Service and price is much better, however I sometimes feel like I'm being treated like 'Bob the Builder' rather than a serious long term customer.
