Best garage I have used

Mr Clutch was recommended to me, I have been using them for my annual mot and service for the last 5 years. They give great customer service, explain what to look out for in the future and always go the extra mile.

Glow green maintenance package is a winner

We purchased glow green monthly maintenance package in 2021 when we purchased our Combi boiler. The package includes an annual service. Today Steve called me in good time to tell me he was arriving at 9am to undertake the boiler service. Steve turned up on time. He answered a couple of questions I had. Steve was friendly and he completed the job in the allotted time. There was no issues with my boiler, he completed my copy of the annual checklist. Steve emailed me the gas safety certificate on the same day at lunchtime. I would definitely recommend Glow Green and Steve.

Checkatrader - user beware

My experience of Checkatrader mirrors those who have given them the lowest score. I too got a rogue trades person. But the worst of this is Checkatrader themselves. They make money from the tradesmen, around £3k per trade. They only undertake desktop checks, they don’t actually audit check any of the trade persons work that they use. They have an incoming customer call centre only and so don’t return calls; I only received one email from them after 4 weeks of calling them, to finally get a response from using their very odd complaints system, which was to write a poor review. They are meant to follow poor reviews up, but they did not. I accessed their guarantee form from their website and submitted it, but no response. Due to the damage to my internal ceilings because of poor workmanship meant I had to get it fixed, as I was getting no service from Checkatrader. One of Checkatrader’s call centre workers made it clear to me that I would get nowhere with them in compensation, as I had got the repair done despite explaining that the roof was going to cause further damage to my ceilings. So if you use them remember it a lottery as to whether you get a reputable tradesperson. It’s best to get a recommendation from a real person that you know, which was the only way I got the work repaired to stop the roof leaking when it rained. In reality they offer no real service to access trusted traders.

Amazon customer service is appalling

Amazon customer service is appalling. After being a customer for over 18 years my account was hacked into. I saw this had happened within 2 hours and took immediate measures, cancelling the order, calling them and on their advice deleting my payment cards and told not to accept any deliveries. Later that evening I also saw the name and address of the hacker and I reported this to Amazon. After that I could no longer access my account. The hacker order £400 worth of good which was taken from my debit card. Emails started to appear and disappear only from Amazon and I changed my email password. My bank issued me a new card and refunded me the money after asking a few questions. In contract Amazon emails have been awful, it looks like a standard response calling the issue a dispute not cyber fraud. The customer service number is only for goods and no one is equipped or competent enough to speak to me. So now the email tells me my account is blocked by them for 30 days or more. I pay for my Amazon prime, i.e videos on line service, in advance and I can’t use it. It’s unbelievable. So be ware of leaving your card details on line as it’s not the hack that is the issue but the dreadful way Amazon have dealt with this. Hats off to my bank, Barclays, who quickly worked out from my long standing history with them, their observation of my Amazon history that I am a victim of Cyber Crime and not left me short of what is a lot of money!

Great customer service. British essentials stock my favourite hard to find Nescafé Gold Crema. They rectified a mistake with delivery, quickly, politely and efficiently. It good to have service that you can trust.
