Incompetence Running Rife!
Without any prior consultation as to whether we might be available We received an appointment letter from Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospitals to attend an Ultra Sound scan at Halton Health Hub, Runcorn. Unfortunately we are not able to attend on the said date.
Therefore we phoned to cancel and rearrange as advised on the letter-“If you are unable to attend for your appointment or you would like to rearrange please contact us immediately for an alternative date. Your prompt action will enable us to offer this appointment to another patient.”
When we phoned whilst we were able to cancel we were told they could not rearrange as per the above but that another letter would be sent out again without prior consultation as to whether or not we would be available. This has proved a waste of our time and of NHS staff time and presumably a waste of money for staff time , postage, stationery etc.
Time and again we hear the NHS is short of cash and we would say it’s no wonder with such incompetence.
