No delivery, and no estimate when to expect it either

I ordered a lamp in early November which, to date (18/12), has not arrived. It is 'on hold' with the delivery service. The supplier responds nicely and promptly to questions, basically just telling me to wait without any indication for how long - there is nothing they can do, they say, as if they had fallen into the hands of highway robbers. But in fact those highway robbers have been employed by them. The lamp was meant as a Christmas present. That it will not be, it seems.
