Shocking overall experience purchasing wedding party suits

My wedding party of 7, vistied Slaters Menswear in Cardiff in September to select our suits for my early December wedding. The initall visit was fine, the polite member of staff measured us all up and put the suit order in which i was advised would take roughly 3 weeks to come into store. Unfortunately this was the only positive experience after mutliple visits.

After 6 weeks, i had recieved no phonecall so i contacted the store to which i was told a story which didnt really make sense. Anyway, the suits came in another 2 weeks later (End October). The wedding party visited the store to try on the suits and have any amendments taken. We was also got measure for the shirts which we were told come with a bow tie.

On the 3rd visit to try on for the final time is when disater hit for many members of the wedding party. The salesmen were happy to send us away without trying on the suits...its lucky we did as on atleast 3 suits the trouser legs were differemt sizes (an inch out when measure). Again the salesmen tried tellling us they were ok when clearly after measuring they were not. The salesmen talked over me reguarly and did the same with my dad and step dad to be when they visited seperately who also had miss measurements. When picking up the shirts they said the bow ties were out of stock but we could collect seperately when back in stock.

When i tried on the shirt it was like a tent on me...again the salesman said it was fine and said a size down wouldnt fit. After firm pressure they let me try a size down which fitted perfect. After this the button on the waist coat fell off...at this point we was extremly stressed. The salesmans was self assured and cocky acting like it was no big deal...finally i left with a well fitting suit. After is ordeal, the seamstress said he will measure all the legs on the 7 suits, he did this and advised every suit leg was half an inch to an inch longer than the other leg so he would level them off accordingly...

My dad returned this sunday to collect the bow ties to which we was told he would have to pay...this was after we was told they came with the shirts on 3 seperate occasions..my dad complained after the one member of staff basically talked over him and told him tough luck. The manager then came out and allowed him to leave with the bow ties for free.

All in all an horendous experience. As a good will gesture, they reduced £70 off my final bill and provided me a free shirt. Slightly appreciated but this does not take away from the horrendous experience over multiple visits. I appreciate errors happen but the disregard for customer opinions and the cocky demeanor of some staff was appalling. They would of happily sent us away with poor fitting suits.
