terrible DHL customer service…
first time sender using Dhl from usa to Mx.
Originally set up a web access account so I could use it to send one package only one time to a family member from a company that I buy from for myself. Subsequently found out that the company was not contracted with DHL so I had them send the pkg to me.
Was never told anything about the consequences of having that kind of account IF that is what the problem is - still don't know.
Sent the pkg on using DHL to Mx. Pkg arrived quickly but now has been sitting in customs for 10 days. found out that they want my family member to go to a gov agency there and jump through gov hoops to register as an "importer" and consider me an exporter. This is absurd - a one and only package to a family member and he has to register as an importer!!!!!.
Trying to get ahold of DHL customer service is a nightmare- Frustrating menus that don't give an option that I want.
- very long hold times playing a message constantly without a split second of silence for an hour or more that allows me to be productive during hold times.
-getting rep who has a strong accent shouldn't be much of a problem except the volume is so low I have to constantly ask them to repeat. or the connection keeps breaking up etc.
- need a resolution from the research department. finally was assigned a person who was to call me by 5pm every day until resolution. NO CALL!!
-spent another hour on the phone this morning (another frustrating experience) and finally was able to have a message sent to the person assigned to the case - to call me.
Still NO CALL
I hardly have it in me to go through any more of this.
I may have to have the package sent back to me.
I have not yet been able to ask if I have to pay many $$ to have this done.
This could be easily resolved if I could just get some customer service
