The last Dyson I'll ever buy
So many customer reviews are written after the first couple of uses, so I'm glad I am now in a position to describe a proper customer experience. I have been a happy Dyson user for many years, until I bought the V6 Fluffy+ a couple years ago. I have been a bit disappointed from day one but as I don't use it that often, I've kept the faith until now (I couldn't face the hassle). Anyway, this machine cost a fortune - a sign of quality, I thought - but within weeks, the paint started to scratch off the hose; weird, but cosmetic, right? Surely it couldn't be a sign of things to come! The hoover has never delivered what it promised - it can hardly keep a charge and has failed to ever clean my (mostly wood) floors downstairs in one go, as advertised - let alone the whole house, which is really not that big. I hate that I have to use a screwdriver or poke my fingers about in it to pull the dirt out to empty it - it's a disgusting design feature and speaks to the fact that the makers believe it's only the lowly cleaning ladies who'll have to deal with this so not to worry. Now the motor cuts out intermittently, so I can't use it, and the fabric strip that stops the brush head from scratching my floor has come away, so I'd have to find a way to reattach it. I thought I'd give the thing one more try before I bin it - but then the bottom opened by itself and emptied the contents over the rug I was trying (unsuccessfully) to clean - ‘user error’, no doubt. I am beyond disgusted with Dyson. The fact they have so many ads directing you to their support/repairs service is a clue - the products are crap. I had my last Dyson hoover for about 10 years; so this is a change for the worse. I would've expected even a cheapo brand to last longer than a couple years. My recommendation? Avoid. There's much better out there, for less.
