Extremely not recommended

This insurance works until you touch something important and substantial. In my case, and as it turns out, not only in mine, there were unjustified coverage denials. The service doesn't solve the problem, but drags out the process. I recommend looking for more reliable companies. This is a cheap and questionable option.

customer of Salus Seguros.

Been a customer of Salus Seguros for two and a half years. Used them twice before for minor items that just required a specialist review and both were fine. This time I had a TIA rang them and they suggested an hospital to go to imediately. All went well with diagnosis tests X-ray and CT scan thankfully ok for me but we were advised by the hospital that I needed to stay in maybe for the whole weekend. ( this was Friday afternoon) at 2:55 I got a call that Salus Seguros would meet treatment costs to date but would not fund any further treatment. Of course I then rang Salus and was informed they were now shut for the weekend.
No explanation, no discussion Salus left me in the lurch with a potential weekend stay in hospital and tests potentially in the thousands of euros.
Because of the good results too date and the fact I could not afford thousands, I discharged myself this afternoon and will use my S1 tomorrow to carry on my treatment. Completely disgusted with Salus Seguros and would not recommend them to anyone

I wrote a very critical review about this criminal company before, but was thrown out for reasons that I cannot trace yet. The trick they always use is this (see many other reviews) The customer is going to cost us a lot of money, so we have to do something about it. Their standard method is you lied to us when you took out the insurance because you knew what your condition was you had before and so you have to prove us that it was not so. Then they ignore all the evidence.whoever says the opposite is true, lawyers, doctors etc, they deny everything and try to make the procedure as long as possible. They are really creeps. Crooks. And they literally go over dead bodies. My daughter has to be operated soon to have any right to live further, but they don’t care. Now me and my wife have to pay for the operation ( 12.000 euro) but we do this with pleasure to save our daughters life. But how is it possible that in a civilized Country like Spain these kind of criminals can daily continue their activities

Had a abscess found in my colon

Had a abscess found in my colon, in hospital 3 days and everything sorted.Been insured for 5 months and salus say it was a pre existing condition even though my original doctor and consultant at the hospital say it wasn’t. They asked me for a letter from a consultant to give their honest opinion but just keep saying pre existing condition. Disgraceful company that i’m now taking legal advise on to sort out. Terrible company.

ABSOLUTELY THE WORST

ABSOLUTELY THE WORST. I paid thousands of dollars, have been in spain for 5 months, and have yet to get ahold of them. Holds exceed 2 hours. Emails do not get answered. Even when I leave a message in que, they do not call back. My biggest - and only- regret in moving to Spain was that I took this policy. I won't even use the brokering firm that arranged it - which by the way was Spainbrok.com. Essentially: I PAID FOR NOTHING.

RUN!

Do not, do not, DO NOT get suckered into getting Salus Global Seguros insurance. They are worthless, greedy, unsympathetic, corrupt bastards who take your money and deliver NOTHING. RUN IN THE OTHER DIRECTION AND GET SANITAS OR SOMETHING REPUTABLE.

This company is an absolute disgrace

This company is an absolute disgrace, I took out the NLV insurance that has to include no co payments, and cover all medical care including cancer. I went to a doctor in spain was told I needed an endoscopy, the insurance refused to pay as I had a pre existing stomach problem, even though I told then it was my in my throat. I had to return to the UK for tests and found out I had terminal throat cancer. Trying to get Salus to get my medical records was of no use. I ended up having to get them myself this took months salus could have requested them and it would have only been a week or two. Once I gave them my records they ignord them until 2 weeks later I asked what was happening they claim they never got them so I resent the exact same email and they admitted they had got it, but then said they won't cover me for anything to do with my cancer but the policy clearly states it covers all cancers and I have never had cancer before so no pre existing conditions could be claimed by them. I am starting legal action against them and going to find out what Spanish rights I have and how to report them to the correct departments. As far as there reply is concerned they can deal with my solicitors, so as I said pleas do not use them for anything they are awful and won't pay for any illness that costs them money.

Salus are using Brexit to gain money for a product they have no intent of supporting.…

Can i say at the start please please stay clear ,we signed up with these cowboys ,when i needed help for my wife they gave me numbers for doctors when we tried to call they never answered ,when we called Salus we could not speak to an english speaking operative ,so for one year we had no medical as no one was willing to help,so we have cancelled and now there is problems,we will see!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Disgusting company

Disgusting company. Avoid at all costs. Despite no less than FOUR medical reports (even from my Hospital Director), they blatantly refuse to pay out a claim for life threatening surgery on alleged grounds of a pre-existing condition exclusion. A condition they've been advised and evidenced I had for ONE month.

Compañía repugnante. Evitar a toda costa. A pesar de no menos de CUATRO informes médicos (incluso del director de mi hospital), se niegan descaradamente a pagar un reclamo por una cirugía que pone en peligro la vida por supuestos motivos de exclusión por una condición preexistente. Una condición que les han advertido y evidenciado que tuve durante UN mes.

Not recommended

Expensive. Bad communication. Don't pay if you send them a bill. We have switched to a different health insurance policy. Definitely not recommended.

Appalling company

Appalling. I cancelled my healthcare policy, didn't hear from Salus for over a year, then received a court summons, with zero information, so i had 5 days of worry until my lawyer confirmed that Salus are taking me to court, asking me to pay the previous years policy, saying that they had sent SMS messages and letters. I received zero SMS messages or letters. The reason they give is that i hadn't cancelled my policy in time (I had) and that i had an exceptionally high claims number the previous year. So they are trying to claim extra money to make up for the fact that i needed to use the healthcare that i paid for the previous year?! To add to this, when i did have the policy, i needed an operation and Salus tried to claim it was a pre-existing condition, i had to pay to go to a private doctor and pay him to write a letter to prove that it wasn't a pre-existing condition, otherwise Salus would never have allowed me to have the operation. The most appalling company. Don't go near them!

If Salus could be awarded a 0 star review, they would achieve it!
This health insurance company provided the very worst of experiences policy ref 38277. Their only reason to exist appears to be maximising the amount of money they can generate from their unfortunate customers. In addition, the private hospital they force clients to use in the Torrevieja area is if, you take notice of the many 1 star Google reviews, is Quiron. You have no choice but to use this hospital if you need to. It took me FIVE visits to get results from a biopsy - 2 visits as the hospital kept cutting off your call after 10 minutes with several attempts over separate 1 hour periods. One visit in the evening they had closed off their main reception entrance. Salus actually phoned after my 1st complaint via email and their advice to me was not to use the appointment option, but emergency to get an answer! When I eventually managed to get an appointment, despite assurance, that results would be available, the results on the 1st and 2nd appointments were not available. They were eventually available following my 5th 1 hour return drive. Salus received yet another email of complaint providing full detail. To date months and several reminders later, I still await any reply regarding my complaint.
With my knowledge that I would be eligible shortly following the renewal notice to Spanish NHS, I requested by email to go onto their advertised cover on a month by month basis (see website which only advertises monthly not annual policies). They provided a revised monthly quotation. After 2 months and 3 months after the unanswered complaint, I wrote and cancelled the policy and premiums. Salus response was "You cannot cancel". I did cancel again referring to abysmal service levels from both them and Quiron. Their only response was to issue a court summons providing totally inaccurate information. Errors were queried by email, but as usual with Salus, this was ignored. While I was confident that their claim would be thrown out, the legal costs which you cannot reclaim were quoted as more than the Salus claim.
If nothing else, I hope that my experience assists you in selecting a health insurance provider. Check the John Grisham TV series "The Firm" (not the film) and take note of Noble Insurance and their enterprise - then imagine Salus to be just a step or so away from their methods!

I live in Valencia I am with Salus ( which I will NOT be renewing ) I had a bad fall and needed an operation on my back. They paid for all scans,tests etc, but then refused the operation authorisation saying it was pre existing condition?! How does that make sense? If they thought it was pre existing they wouldn't of paid for all my scans!! I sent doctors and traumatologist letters to them they did not reply.
They have not contacted me after several letters were sent. Very unprofessional and the Director of the Alicante area is despicable Mr Adlofo Lagunas never even bothered to reply to my email. Alicante was where my operation was going to rake place
I only got the same short email over and over stating it was pre existing. I've been left in terrible pain with no way of getting this operation done. No other insurance will touch a pre existing condition.
Terrible, unprofessional company. Bad customer service.
I have now read loads of bad reviews regarding this company unfortunately to late!!
I have passed my details to the Spanish ombudsman so hopefully something is done soon.
Companies like this should not be allowed to continue with this "pre existing" excuse handed out to their customers to get out of paying for their treatment!!

Took out a health insurance with this…

Took out a health insurance with this outfit, but months later when I needed to claim, they declined and said I would have to prove that my claim wasn't pre-existing. How do you do that, I'm not a doctor? Appalling assistance and care. Not worth the paper it's written on. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.
