They overcomplicate things
I live in a rented house since 2021, around 5 years now. The first half year I had a flatmate, but after he moved out, I decided to live alone in the house, so I don't have to worry about mess in the house, even it means I pay the bills alone. I let the agency know about it, they informed the landlord. Time passed, he was happy, as he got paid every month, I was happy to live in a clean house. In the meantime my agency started to work together with Let Alliance. First sight it sounded like a happy news, as we got the opportunity to renew my contract, where I could be alone in it. The landlord was happy to proceed, I was happy to proceed, the agency was happy that everyone is happy, but we had to involve Let Alliance. I had to go through a very long applicaation process, I had to upload more papers, when I moved in this house. Every day I got emails and phone calls, just upload this and that and than my claim will be processed. I was eager a couple month ago to have the new contract, but Let Alliance made me carry an extra burden, like we don't have enough and eventually I never received the new contract, despite the landlord, the agency and me were happy to proceed. I give 2 stars, as they just answered a question which I was pounding for a long time: why people want to do everything with landlords, instead of agencies.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS, WE LOST THE FLAT BECAUSE OF LET ALLIANCE!
We had an extremely frustrating and disappointing experience trying to rent a modest one-bedroom flat in Edinburgh for just over £1,000/month. Despite both of us being full-time employed, we were rejected by Let Alliance, not because of our actual financial situation, but because of their deeply flawed automated AI referencing system.
This system does not involve any human oversight. No one actually reviews your bank statements, payslips, or other documents to verify the context of your financial situation. The AI simply runs your details through an opaque algorithm and gives a pass or fail and that’s it. In our case, it completely ignored the fact that we were already paying rent elsewhere, which of course we would no longer be paying once we moved. So instead of seeing that we had enough income to afford the new flat, it wrongly assumed we would be paying both rents, a completely unrealistic assumption.
It took nearly two stressful weeks to get this “decision,” during which we were left hanging without any clear communication or opportunity to appeal or explain. In the end, we were both rejected by what amounts to a robot. No logic, no fairness, no human judgment.
We used ELC Sales & Lettings in Edinburgh, and unfortunately, their decision to rely on Let Alliance’s flawed system made the entire process stressful, impersonal, and ultimately unsuccessful. We have now lost the flat and are in an extremely difficult housing situation.
If you are looking to rent, be very cautious about using any letting agency that uses Let Alliance. If their AI doesn't like your data, no matter how wrong it is, you are out of luck. There's no appeal, no discussion, and no accountability.

So far not great
So far not great. Wanting to process a claim, told it could take a week, it’s been now three weeks and we haven’t heard anything. Multiple emails and calls to them to chase them but still nothing!!
They were very quick to take our money to start with but when you actually need them, it seems they don’t want to process your claims quickly or take it seriously. It has been a complete let down!
Would not trust them going forward.
