Scammers
Scammers. I ordered my husband a pair of boots and they came scuffed and scratched and looked like they had been worn. When I asked the company for a refund and provided pictures of the damaged boots I was told there was nothing they could do. They’ve already gone out of business once because they owed a lot of money and we not paying their vendors. So it’s a theme with them.
Up until my most recent Freebird…
Up until my most recent Freebird purchase, I had a great experience and truly loved all my Freebird boots and booties.
My last purchase was the Roadey - Ice in my usual size 6. Based on the measurements listed on the website —
16 ¾” Shaft Height
13” Mid-Calf Shaft Circumference
15” Top Shaft Circumference with adjustable buckle
I was confident they'd fit perfectly. Since they were also on sale, it felt like an easy decision.
However, when the boots arrived last week and I tried them on, I was shocked to find that I couldn’t zip them up completely. The actual shaft circumference is at least 2–3 inches smaller than advertised. I don’t have wide calves, so I was incredibly disappointed that these beautiful boots were unwearable.
I contacted the company, expecting a reasonable response, but was met with none. There was no acknowledgment of the inaccurate sizing information or responsibility for the misleading measurements. I was told the boots were a final sale and absolutely no return or refund could be authorized. I was also told that, due to their current status in "receivership," they’re operating under strict limitations—whatever that’s supposed to mean.
Overall, it’s been an awful experience. Sadly, this will be my last purchase from Freebird. There was no accountability for false advertising, and the customer service was severely lacking.
Incomplete order - still kept my $$
I ordered a pair of boots and a hat (total of $400). I only got the boots and when I reached out about the missing hat they said there was nothing they could do about it as they were under new management. WTF? You take my money and then say your hands are tied?? That's not honest or ethical - avoid purchasing online. In-store might be better since you can deal with them in person.
Stay away from this brand
Are you serious??? I paid over $200 for a boot, I received a used (worn) product from someone else??? The box was all damaged, the black cloth bag was covered in cat hair, and the boots had marked leather??? I want my money back, please. I wear a size 7 and I bought a size 8. In short, the design of the boot is so bad that your foot doesn't even fit in!!!
Stay away from this brand!!!
I own multiple pair of Freebirds
I own multiple pair of Freebirds. Everyone is made of high quality leather and is a handmade product with attention to detail. The sizing does vary between style which can be expected with brands that are handmade. If you look at the recommendations and follow their guide I have found them to be a true fit. Recently they have had a no return policy which has not been the norm of the past. I have found in the past their team to be very friendly. I have not had a need to return any of my recent purchases and all have arrived timely as ordered.
I have several pairs of FreeBird shoes
I have several pairs of FreeBird shoes. They are beyond cute, and so different. So I went into several stores in Denver. Customer service as great. But if you buy online, it’s not great. It says it can’t be refunded. A lot of their shoes are super uncomfortable. My shoes are so cute. But wow they hurt my feet. It’s like walking on rocks. Also one shoe may fit and the other will be too tight. So don’t buy online. You won’t find a lot of reviews. They closed most stores and it’s a great product. But the owner needs to learn how to run a business.
Don’t trust Freebird. No ethics no honesty
Purchased full price boots and paid international shipping and taxes. Point of sale said exchange return option available with instructions. Boots arrived but too big. Was then told no return possible as company has been sold and going forward no returns. However when I purchased mine this was definitely an option and I wouldn’t have risked such a big purchase otherwise as I had no way to try on first being international. Basically told ‘too bad sorry’! I will now contact BBB to see if I can get help. Terrible experience and left a bad taste for this company and brand, the boots are lovely, the cost was a very big for me. The customer importance, company ethics and honesty are obviously of no value to Freebird.
If I could give 0 stars I would
If I could give 0 stars I would. I’ve never experienced this many hair dumbs in my LIFE! Such terrible products and terrible company. DONT BUY. I wish I could post pictures here so I could show you my face.
They deserve 0 stars
They deserve 0 stars, it's the worst customer service I have had to deal with. Awful customer service...
The shoes are so painful for my feet. And even though I paid the free stress (I don't know what they call it) return/exchange, they didn't care.
I want to clarify that my purchase was not on sale. So there was no reason not to accept my return.
Does not give a close shave
Does not give a close shave. Went over my head for 30 minutes with new blades and had all kinds of stubble. Don't waste your money.

I recently went to the Freebirds in Dallas, Tx on Greenville Ave. I actually go often. They always do a great job there and are polite. An employee named Joshua helped me that day and he really stood out. Very kind and went above and beyond. This is rare these days and I felt the need to applaud him. I have worked in customer service my whole life- 30+ years. I know good when I see it!
Used Boots received
Purchased boots that were on sale. Was told no refunds on boots. Received used/worn boots!! Terrible

This company is absolutely relentless in spamming me. I've tried to unsubscribe, tried reporting as spam, blocking them, tried calling them directly, even reported them to the FTC. There's simply no way to get their emails out of my inbox.
Sticking with Tecovas
The size I ordered is an entire size smaller than other brands. Shipping time is horrible. All told I ordered January 5 and it’s now January 30 and no boots. They use a cheap shipping method. No correct tracking info.
I love being part of the flock
I own about 45 pairs of Freebirds and absolutely love them. They are beautiful, well made and high quality. They are a bit pricey, but they always have great sales. Sizing varies, so if you don't have a store in your area, read the customer reviews on how they run and choose based on how you'll wear them (with or without socks, etc.). I ordered mostly online at first, until I was lucky enough to have a store open up near me. The staff is wonderful and super helpful, both in store and online. I highly recommend giving them a try.

Cute boots but holy hell are they…
Cute boots but holy hell are they uncomfortable! I am originally an 8.5 shoe size, so I ordered the Jermains in size 9, couldn't even get my foot into the boot they were so narrow and tiny. Let alone zipping up the calf, these must be made for little kids! So I ordered a size 10, a little too big now and it took all my effort and about 1/2 hour to zip up the calf it's SO narrow. Worn for a couple hours trying to like them but these are the most uncomfortable boots I have ever worn in my life. I don't understand how they can justify charging this much for a pair of boots with sizes that fit toddlers. Need to size up 2x. Not worth it!!!!
