ordered a bed in off white colour on…

ordered a bed in off white colour on 24th june. received a grey bed instead on 18th august. salesperson kept forcing me to accept the wrong item, saying they don’t know what to do with it. they initially offered 8% discount and another 15% discount after rejecting their first offer.

they eventually decided to do a replacement and after i insisted on getting the correct item many times. not even a single service recovery when they delivered my bed today. really unacceptable customer service recovery tactics.

Absolute scam of a company

Absolute scam of a company. Believe everything that the reviews below states.

TL;DR: They're basically a middleman company operating in Singapore that sources for factories probably in China or something. So if Factory A can't produce what they want, they jump to Factory B & C and so forth.

I, too, purchased from this company twice, with the same reasoning that maybe, just maybe, I was just unlucky during my first purchase. I bought a floor lamp the first time, and a wardrobe the second time. Both times the design specifications that were put up for sale on their website were apparently not available, so my partner and I essentially paid for items that were not confirmed available.

I received an email stating that my wardrobe had been produced and was awaiting shipment. However, about 2 weeks later, they got back to me to inform me that there was apparently some production issue with my previously "completed" wardrobe, and they asked me if I was ok with a different design instead. Because of their scam tactics, we ended up having to wait even longer than the promised date of delivery because they essentially will only build the item when the order comes in, and mind you, not all of their factories can cater to the design specifications.

Their website at present states "No price hike! Orders placed now will arrive early Nov.". Do not believe it for a single second because some shit will go wrong with your order, and they WILL arrive a month or 2 later.

Worst part is because they KNOW they WILL run into these problems, so they have a clause on their website stating that they don't do compensations. 100% scammy behaviour.

Another poor company

Another poor company, poor customer service, incredibly long delivery times of 8 weeks or more. And then getting sent a completely different product to what you had ordered. Stay away from these clowns!

UM BEHAVIOR IS UNETHICAL

URBAN MOOD: DO NOT FALL INTO THE TRAP LIKE ME
The company is a market seller and has a Singapore web address.
It contracts the making of furniture out to manufacturers in South East Asia (SEA), after receiving an order on line.
In Singapore they have a warehouse where furniture arrives after clearing customs.
The telephone number on the website page is a fish bait. In fact, the phone is not manned.
The after-sale assistance is left to people who are clueless. One is Erin. They always repeat, like a broken record, that they have their internal policies and nothing can be done for you if you get into trouble because of them.
You will never talk to any after sale assistant because they only write to you either via email or via WhatsApp.

I dealt with them twice and below is my experience:

In August 2004, I bought 2 outdoor sofas. The agreement with the company was that the above would reach my location, Singapore, between the 3rd and the 4th week of September 2024. The sofas did not come on time and the company made up for it by giving me a discount of SINGD200. Sometime later finally the sofas reached my place but one of them was damaged. UM, being a very unprofessional entity, tried to repair the damage on the spot with some improvised paint and brush. However, I had to beg them to take the sofa away and repair it properly.
Unfortunately, I didn't learn the lesson. I went back to buy from them again. The reason? First, I am an idiot, second, they sell pretty stuff, third you always give someone a second chance.
In January 2025 I ordered another outdoor sofa and 2 armchairs. I asked for customization as well: sofa cushions had to be white.
As far as the armchairs were concerned, they asked me about the orientation of the back and arm rests made in rattan. I specified the one I wanted. These details were explained in a number of emails in which both parties (I and them) had put in writing the above features for the sofa and for the armchair.
After arguing with them over delivery dates, which the company kept changing since to them punctuality on delivery is not important, they finally sent the stuff to my place on the 22nd of March. That day I was in hospital and the goods were taken in by my helper. On the 23rd I was discharged and to my horror I realized that the modifications agreed were not there.
Immediately I wrote an email and a WhatsApp message to the company rejecting in writing all the goods and asking them to credit my credit card. The company, which has no shame, said that they had to make an internal enquiry to understand whether what I had stated was correct. In addition, they said not to worry because on Monday the factories would open, everybody would be back at work and things would be sorted out.
Here I am. It is Monday, the 24th of March, 4 pm. The company has disappeared. If they were authentic merchants willing to deal with customers at arms length, in a clean and honest way, they would take out of their system, my order, compare it with the delivery and realize that the latter was not in line with the order. An honest company, like so many others I dealt with in the past, would have simply sent a truck to pick up their unwanted goods and credited my credit card straight away. A company which is not out there to scam you would behave this way.
To conclude, never buy from an opaque trader even though some of the reviews are positive. Please remember that good reviews are being sold in the market. Any merchant can buy them. Perhaps UM bought them too.
In addition, this type of traders benefit from the following already, but they still want more:
1. the demand risk of the company is zero. They make an object (a piece of furniture) only upon an order;
2. The financial risk of the company is zero because customers pay in advance 100% of the price.
So UM is making what economists would call "extraordinary profits" because it is protected by N. 1 and N. 2 above, does not have to bear costs due to a permanent infrastructure in Singapore, benefits from the opacity of internet and the loose laws which govern the counties in SEA.
However UM has no decency. In fact, it could share some of the profits with its customers when they need their help. For instance, they could say to me the following: " sorry we got it wrong and we will rectify it without ifs and buts"
You as a customer, if without a lawyer, (it is not my case since I have one just appointed) have no protection whatsoever. You can only pray your God that everything goes well between suppliers, manufacturers and distributors which operate in SEA. A part from Singapore where it reigns the rule of law, the other countries are the Far West. No law, kickbacks, and crimes at any level of society.
We must all do our duty. Malpractice must be denounced. In fact I will reach all the socials available to me to make people be aware of this company.
