I wish I could rate this lower
I wish I could rate this lower, never book with Trivago. Absolutely no customer service and have been waiting 4 days for a response, even calling daily nothing happens. Never use them. EVER.
Trivago cannot be trusted.
On 30/09/25 I made a reservation with Algotel using Trivago. On checking my credit card I discovered that I had been charged TWICE. Too late I checked on Algotel and found only negative reviews. A company is only as good as its agents. I will never use Trivago again.
Never again
Never again. I would rather sleep in a snow bank than use this website to book a room. I made a search using google to find a room for the night and Trivago was the best price, so I click, clicked, booked. I arrived to the hotel minutes later only to discover the booking I made was for 3 weeks in the future because when I took the link, the dates changed on their own. Initially, I was supported well and Trivago accepted my explanation and agreed to make a new booking for that night at about the same price and cancel the future booking, they assured me, even though it was a non-refundable booking, that because I was booking again right away, that I could likely receive a refund, if the hotel agreed. Now, for two weeks, I have been back and forth with Trivago by email trying to recover the funds and am getting run-around after run-around and even though all was clear in the beginning, they are now refusing to refund me or call the hotel (I called the hotel and they said Trivago has not called them) and the support person is taking days to get back to each of my replies. I am sure they are running the clock down so they can further claim that a refund cannot be given due to the length of time it has taken or some scam like that...never ever again. This company is a complete shyster and hack firm.
Deceptive practices
I found a price for a room through a Google search and then accessed Trivago. The dates were very clearly stated on both Google and then Trivago's room selection page. I selected a room and then upon checkout confirmed everything. Then when I received the confirmation email, the dates were WRONG! I called them immediately and their customer support person said because it was non-refundable, they could not change it and I would have to rebook. Obviously, I am going to chargeback as this is clearly deceptive and completely unprofessional. Oh by the way, they ask for a tip on their booking site. Utter scam.

I use this company to help with a trip , worse mistake , they told me my tickets were together, but were all mixed up , very unprofessional to tell customers one thing , and not get what you were expecting.

Highlighted on a few occasions now the price being displayed is different to when you click into the link. This was for a Trivago own offer too, £4 difference at checkout. Not the first time, customer service response inadequate.
Extremely annoyed at this company!
Extremely annoyed at this company!! All i need to add is guest names on booking for visa purposes but the customer service is unable to understand a simple query, it is taking them way too long to add guest names on the booking- nothing needs amending!! Never will trust such company as Im having to delay my visa due to poor customer service! I will update once my issue is resolved!
Booked and paid but the hotel was not booked
I used Trivago to book a trip to Melbourne. I booked and paid a month before the trip. I thought it was strange that full payment was taken as it was free cancellation up to the day before. When I arrived at the hotel they had no booking for me. I was not able to contact the company it was booked through. The phone number said the call could not be connected. I had to pay again to stay at the hotel, I only stayed one night and went home. It ruined the experience. I found the companies website and worked out how to change the language to English, it is a French company. I was able to make contact and they advised they were not able to make the booking. They would have known that a month ago. They finally offered a refund. I am still waiting on the refund. This experience has lost my trust in Trivago. I was able to get cheaper rates directly through the hotel.

Actually no stars for this site I was completely ripped off when I booked a room through them customer service is diabolical and the girl who dealt with it called Mel had no compassion at all J am still waiting & needing my refund back scammers and fraudersters do not book with these nasties !!!!!!!
Travigo hotel price always omits actual taxes and fess
Any hotel booking done via Trivago will ALWAYS end up with extra fees when checking in at the hotel counter, the inital low price is always a lie.
I booked several different hotels in Orlando flroida USA during September 2025, and I was always forced to pay extra taxes and fees.
One was initially $38 at Travigo deals, then hotel added extra $20 fees&taxes , so actual total was $58 per night.
Another was initally $63 from Travigo deals, then hotel added extra $13 fees&taxes, so actual total was $76 per night.
So be warned, Travigo deals hotel prices NEVER actually include the hotel taxes and fees, it always end up higher at the end, and be prepared to pay extra out of your pocket!
I made a pre-paid reservation for a…
I made a pre-paid reservation for a resort hotel through Trivago. Reservation was made 6 months in advance. When I went to the hotel on reserved day, the hotel manager told me there is no reservation. When asked what is travel agent, I replied, it is Trivago. The manager, shaking his head, indicated this wasn’t the first time there have been troubles with Trivago. Of course, I immediately called Trivago customer service. Trivago indicated it will solve the problem in 15 to 30 minutes. After waiting for Trivago to act upon the problem for 5 hours in hotel lobby, the hotel manager informed me Trivago has not done anything to solve the problem. The manager indicated there has been no phone calls or emails from Trivago while I was waiting. Trivago just took my money and did not make reservation on my behalf. To make things worse, Trivago indicated to me this is non-refundable. To get my money back, I have to file a small court claim at my local court. My recommendation is that just stay away from Trivago. It is a fraudulent company.
hassan the worker needs sacking
HASSAN THE HOTEL RECEPTIONIST are really rude, I currently have a sick bug and don’t have a transfer until 2:45 and have been told I cannot sit or lay down on the sofa in reception despite being told to leave my room because they wouldn’t allow us to purchase a late checkout. His name is Hassan, he was really rude and when I asked for his name he rudely, sexually blowed a kiss and waved and laughed. No wonder this hotel has bad reviews and no one recommends to stay here. The cleaners are the only nice people in this hotel. Hassan needs his job revoked and needs to learn some manners.
Complete scam
Complete scam. I booked with them and cancelled and they gave me an e-credit for the price of the booking. The e-credit is not redeemable on their website you have to go through customer service to redeem it. Customer service won't redeem it with you over the phone; they ask you to email the hotel and the dates you want to stay at, then they charge an additional amount over email, which costs more than the e-credit deducts.
They're trying to charge me $395 for a place that costs $220 on their website.
Keep in mind you're chatting with AI bots and foreigners over the phone. This business should be shut down.
Trivago is a fraud company
Trivago is a fraud company. They book the fake reservation deduct the money from the payment site and then do not provide reservation of rooms.
Not what I booked
Booked a standard room at Days Inn Tewkesbury, on arrival, I'm told that Trivago have put me into the disabled easy access room with twin beds. Not what I booked. Also the toilet hadn't been flushed from the previous occupants visit.
I looked up hotels for Bedford
I looked up hotels for Bedford, VA and was provided a hotel in Bedford, PA. Being in an area with limited wi-fi service it was erroneously booked. As soon as I had service I called to have it cancelled. Spoke with someone who said that no one was available to handle the cancellation but I would recieve a callback within 45 minutes. No one called back so I sent emails to trivago deals. No response and I was billed. Will never use Trivago again and I am letting friends and family not to use them either.
I booked a hotel in NYC for 2 nights…
I booked a hotel in NYC for 2 nights from trivago from one of the sites that showed up on their search called Algotels. Once i reached the hotel they said they haven't received my booking and i should contact Algotels. When i called them they said the escalation team will call me back in 15 mins. This continued for 3 hours and i still did not get a call back neither did they confirm the booking with the hotel. This is a huge scam being run and cheating customers of their hard earned money. Trivago doesnt take any responsibility of this but its their aggregation site that lists these scamers. Please check the reviews throughroughly before spending your hard earned money.
Trivago Deals is a SCAM
I have had a trip booked for a month and I understand that I cannot cancel the reservation but I am unable to go. I recently found out that I have end stage kidney disease. I sent Trivago Deals proof that I am going through treatment right now from Florida Cancer specialist and they declined to help me with my reservation. They would not change the date or let my sister go in my place. I asked that the reservation be put it in her name and I was told no. I understand not changing the date or canceling the reservation, but there’s no reason why they cannot change the name on the reservation to my sisters name. It does not say anything about that on their site that I booked this on
Almost a Scam Company – Stay Away!
This company should not be allowed anywhere. It’s basically a scam operation. They booked me with the wrong dates and then provided zero support. I spent hours on the phone only to be disconnected multiple times, and they never replied to my emails. In the end, I couldn’t even get a chargeback because my bank (BMO) turned out to be just as much of a joke. Absolutely horrible experience from start to finish. Stay far away from this company!
Waste of a 1st day of vacation
Waste of a 1st day of vacation. Headache / hassle to deal with. Never contacted me after saying they would. Your valuable time is better spent going direct: these amateurs have me spinning around outside the hotel I carefully selected & now I’m paying like $2 more for a worse location / amenities. Wish I’d spent the extra $15 direct.
