Horrible customer experience after 4 yr

I was a customer for 4 yrs. When I first began renting two units, there was a wonderful manager that was a gentleman who always provided excellent customer service. Throughout my time I had a total 3 units, and I referred many friends and business partners for this reason. After vacating my last unit on 10/13/2025 I turned in the last unit I had, in pristine condition along with the 2 keys and lock that I was originally given, however Ody the new manager did not provide me with any receipt or paperwork. Since I paid on the 1st, and left on the 13th, I thought I would get a partial refund and sent her an email asking when I would be receiving it.

The response I received stated that I would not be receiving one without further communication. I contacted corporate to see why I would not be getting one, and corporate contacted Ody, which resulted in her retaliation towards me sending me three emails the next day and threatening to charge me an additional $15 for a key that I never received.
Sadly, this was very unprofessional as all she needed to do was send me a reason as to why she would not be able to refund me since the 10th was the cut off date.
I can no longer recommend this company due to the way they handled a simple question, resulting in a terrible customer service experience.

Fantastic!

The best storage in town. I live in Golden Gate, but I don't mind the drive because the prices are the best and the customer service is superior to all the others.

Money First Customer Last

I had been a loyal customer of Lock Up Self Storage for over three years, and for the most part, my experience was positive. The facility was clean, secure, and met my needs without issue. However, things took a sharp downturn in recent months due to some major policy changes that have soured my opinion of the company.

First, they instituted a new policy where, if payment isn't made by the 10th of the month, you’re hit with two late fees — one for $15 and another for $25. While I understand the importance of timely payments, this felt like a blatant money grab. It’s also become incredibly frustrating to receive constant calls and emails about late payments, and even a cancellation call. The pressure feels relentless, especially when you're already facing exorbitant escalating monthly fees.

What really sealed the deal for me was the customer service experience. The staff became increasingly unhelpful, often reminding me that they know when I've viewed their emails, so no exceptions or leniency would be granted. I will also add that after telling me that I would receive a credit for early vacancy, I was later told I am out of luck. There was no flexibility or understanding, just a rigid, corporate attitude. It felt like they were more interested in nickel-and-diming their customers than maintaining good relationships.

After these recent changes, I’ve decided to move my business elsewhere. I can’t continue to support a company that prioritizes profits over customer satisfaction. Lock Up Self Storage has become a money-hungry business, and I would caution anyone considering them to be aware of their increasingly unfavorable policies. I will not be returning.

The structure is DANGEROUS!!

The structure is DANGEROUS!!! The gutter hangs out off the building at my shoulder height, I'm 5'7". In picking up a box I stood up and my head hit the gutter and caused a GASH in my forehead and 25 stitches. THE COMPANY DID NOTHING! They know the structure is dangerous and have not changed a thing and its been 3 years and they did't want to pay the real medical costs!! NEXT time it will be someone's NECK!!!!

Personal customer service each and every time that I have ever needed anything. If they are not available at the time of your call you will receive a call back asap asking how they can assist you. The facility is always clean. The staff is amazing.
