Multiple Issues - Reef Max 250
Plumbing line blew in 2 days, found at least 2 leaks, the items for the sump in the kit don't fit together as instructions show (literally, you can measure the items. They do not fit as drawn), and some of the electronic items didn't work at all. The stand instructions were poor illustrations that skipped steps.
I can afford to just eat the cost and just smash the whole thing to pieces to avoid passing this POS off to anybody else. Boycotting the company from here on out, encouraging others to do the same.
Red Sea no service
Do not buy anything from this company they will not honour any guarantee.
They will try and fob you of with anything so long as it does not cost them money, I purchased a new reefer tank after a few years they would not even replace two hinges.
I have a RedSea return pump from new made a loud humming noise, they wanted me to install back in the tank get a decibel meter sit several feet from the tank and then record the noise and send them. I placed it in a bucket of water it made the same noise and then after they had some sort of meeting decided they would send me a shaft for the pump.
The shaft will not solve the problem. I have asked them to collect the pump they will not do because they already know the problem.
You will just get grief from this company
You have been warned
Don’t trust any Red Sea product
Reefer 350 split down the side. Reefmat and other equipment also felt poorly designed and cheaply made.
Bad seam
Good day. Three years and nine months ago, I bought a Red Sea 300XL. To my surprise, I noticed a bubble in my kit. I contacted Red Sea by email, but they indicated that the three-year warranty (which it was at the time) had expired. The goodwill they offered, means that after a little over three years, I'll have to pay the same amount for a new aquarium again. I understand that aquariums have become more expensive, but I find this truly outrageous. It's not just a simple aquarium swap. But they didn't care about that. It's a shame for the short, good time.

Red Sea Reefer 200 G2 MAX
Just avoid.
Purchased a Red Sea 200G2 MAX in December 2023, and have had ongoing issues with the skimmer badly performing.
This has lead to thousands of dollars of livestock loss due to lack of nutrient export.
Complete lack of support pushing Red Sea to help me out with an obvious ongoing issue (the skimmer motor does not remain consistent which has lead to overflowing and damage to other equipment)
Very happy to promote me buying the system, but failure to provide me with proof of purchase, failure to inform me of the need to register the tank with Red Sea.
Trying to say that I need to purchase alternative equipment while I wait for an indeterminate amount of time while Red Sea do testing (this will be a minimum of a week + whatever time to replace parts)
Go elsewhere.
Update: I posted a question about this on the official Red Sea Owners Group on Facebook, and my post was deleted and I was banned.
I posted a negative review on Red Sea's page and that also has been disallowed. They do not have a single review of less than 3 stars on their page, which probably tells you all you need to know
Absolutely scummy company. Avoid
RedSea seriously disadvantaged us
RedSea seriously disadvantaged us, our reefer 3xl 900 developed a leak when it was 5 years old due to a production error. The kit has started to tear over a length of 44 cm in the side corner and has deflated. all corals including sps and lps and the fish did not survive. Red Sea will not do anything about it because it is outside their warranty. they do give a small discount on a new aquarium. There are many problems with their aquariums that they don't talk about. we are very disappointed!!!!

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY, you will regret it.
Red Sea do not stand behind their…
Red Sea do not stand behind their warranty. One of the reason I purchased from this company was the warranty. I completed the warranty registration to extend it to 5 years. And noticed the seal was discolored and took a closer look and discovered water was behind the seal. After doing some research I found that this was a common situation. After contacting the company with video and proof of purchase. They stated that it was out of warranty and offered a discount on a new model. Stay away from this company they don’t stand behind their warranty and the quality of the products are defective.
Abysmal quality control!
Abysmal quality control!
I went through 3 new Red Sea ATO sensors in a very short time. It makes it super unreliable. And the one thing an ATO has to be is reliable.
Silicone Failure!
Silicone Failure!
My reefer 250 had a catastrophic failure of the silicone seam that caused water damage to my condo and complete loss of everything in the tank!
When I contacted RedSea they offered 30% off a new aquarium and when I asked to speak with a supervisor they rescinded their offer. Total joke of a company! I will be referring this to an attorney.
Bad silicone!!!
Very nice aquarium and well thought out. Unfortunately, my aquarium got a bubble in the silicone after 3.5 years, and the bubble has continued to grow. This is TOTALLY unacceptable poor quality in an aquarium. The only answer I got from Red Sea was the advice to empty the aquarium and re-glue. There is no way I would recommend these aquariums to anyone.

Been a fantastic consumer experience having bought the complete set - one transformer was faulty and got hold of someone immediately and they got a new one immediately. When I didn’t understand things they always got back with detailed answers super quickly
I’ve got the red seat max nano
I’ve got the red seat max nano. I have an issue with connecting my LED lights to Wi-Fi and this isn’t the first time this has happened. Red seas customer service is a joke, I’ve been texting back-and-forth now for three weeks trying to get the problem solved. You can imagine what my corals looking like. I will never buy another Red Sea product again!
I bought a new reefer 170
I bought a new reefer 170, the down flow valve that comes with it is absolutely rubbish, the water level in the weir was either up or down and when down you get loads of gurgling which is a real nuisance. Set it and before no time the level simply just alters itself! On fairness red sea provided a replacement valve twice but it made little difference. Researched online and others have had this same issue and some changed it altogether using a different gate valve.
I chose not to and got rid of the tank and really glad to see the back of it! Would not have a Red Sea again even it was free, I suggest something else if it helps not red sea reefer.

I would not recommend anyone to buy any of there products. Seriously look elsewhere if you want any reef kit that will last longer than 18 months.
To spend £3500 for a "Deluxe premium aquarium 625xxl "which I've had so many issues within the first 2 years is a joke!
1 light RL-90 totally failed and had to be repaired with board failure. took almost two weeks to be resolved.
2 light power packs failed and had to be replaced within the first 2 years, then another 2 failed between year 2 and 4. I'm now left with 2 lights. To say these are worth £400 is laughable.
Design flaws identified with the stand forcing me to retrofit an upright metal bar in the centre of the sump meaning I can no longer change it of it ever breaks as it would mean having to remove the brace putting excess pressure on the front DT tank potentially causing it to break the seals or glass. Unless I shutdown my entire tank and move livestock.
There are overheating issues with the active cooling method red sea have chose on the RL90 design making the plastic twist and warp under the high temperatures and the power packs blowing up. Yes they literally make a loud bang when they fail and they tripped my houses RCD. My lights have ran many different programs but recently they are running the stock 23K program.
To now be left without a light over the aquarium unless I spend another £50 for another power-pack which will no doubt fail in another year. Just for clarity I have had 4 fail so far and have 2 more left running which I'm expecting to blow any day now in line with the rest.
I've purchased two reefwave 45's a few months ago and honestly wish I hadn't bothered. More red sea products full of problems.
One of the controllers keeps saying it has no WiFi when my router shows its connected. (I'm an IT technician so yes its connected) I bought a dual controller for 150 on Saturday to hopefully fix the issue but I wish I hadn't gave them my money and switched to a different brand.
What a joke of a company calling their products premium when I've had mine 4 years with so many issues and to be left like this after choosing to give them almost £4000 of my money!
I do not recommend spending money on any of their products because of the service i have received and the poor quality of products they are selling.
I have another aquarium which I bought at the same time as this one from EA reef. First off it was half the price of the red sea 625xxl and I've not have a single issue where I had to go back to them! Yes you read that right not even ONE! To this day the light still works and the tank is solid with no issues. I wish i had bought two of them instead!

Extremely overrated for such epensive gear.
Have had the reefleds and they gave more problems than that they worked. Almost everyday loss of connection, overheated adaptors within the period of 1 year.
Gave them another chance by buying reefwaves, but also within a year they become noisy, and the barings are already done and need replacement, regardlessly they have a monthly maintainance and cleaning. Reefwaves aren't that easy to disassemble, you will need your complete bodyweight to loosen the axl.
Never ever again I will buy redsea gear again, and I do not recommend it to other people.

PO4 NO3 reducer killed some of my most prized fish. Strange though, wrasse and clown not affected. Inverts, sea stars not affected. Blue hippo tangs big and beautiful, 2 dead, one sick for 24 hours then bounced back to normal. Flame angle dead. Midas Blenny dead. Do NOT use this product. Did Not overdose.
XL 425 tank
XL 425 tank
My tanks seams went last week without warning and lost all fish and coral so over 4 thousand pounds worth I commented on Facebook and they blocked me and the company will only give me 25% off a new tank even tho it's a fault in the tank as it's happened to someone else this week to and it was the same age only 4 years old
NEVER BUY FROM RED SEA
Purchased a Red Sea reefer 350 5 years ago. When the seams split I contacted the company to see if they had a tank only I could purchase. After 3 weeks of back and forth with email, Amanda Tennant needed up calling me a liar. I’m repulsed by the company especially after spending $2,000 on a 75 gallon tank. What’s worse is they’ve improved the tanks so they knew the old ones were faulty.
