Really glad we tried this place – it’s something a bit different for the area and the food was fantastic. We ordered a good mix of dishes and everything was excellent, with the teriyaki chicken kebabs being the absolute standout. The katsu sauce was probably the weakest part, but the chicken itself was still really tasty. Service was super friendly and welcoming, and the price felt fair for how much food we got. Definitely worth a visit! We will return for sure.
When it was a small take away (next door sushi) I found the food better. I had a personal service, the owner knows me well and knows I how like my sushi. When His restaurant opened I was excited to try it and I went there with one other. Both of us have Japanese blood and having not only dined on Japanese food all our lives but made japanese food for our family, on a regularer basis, we know how Sushi should be. To say we were disappointed is an understatement. The swordfish we ordered stank and everybody knows no fish should stink. We politley left that and said nothing, however, when we got to the tuna maki we realised the tuna was not fresh at all. we tried it but it tasted off. Fresh tuna should be bright pink but this tuna was dark grey. We sent it back and just wanted it taken off the bill but the chef persuaded us to just take another portion. The replacement portion was as grey and off as the original and I complained again. The chef said that is how fresh tuna comes. He is a liar, obviously doesn not know how to prepare sushi abd what is fresh and what is no. Neither does he know my experience with Japanese food probably assuming speople in Louth Lincs will never have had sushi. I was left to pay for and take this vile, rancid tuna away with us which we binned in the Co-op car pak bin.
On the whole the restaurant is very bad quality. Miso soup is like water, even the Saki being £90 a bottle tasted watered down as well as the soy sauce. Very disappointed. I do not recommend dining here.
This was our second visit to Kyoto and it was just as amazing as our first. Again, the food was absolutely gorgeous. This time, I tried the Passion Fruit Lemonade. It was delicious. The Jiggly Cat desert was fun and tasty. We'll definitely be back soon! :)
We’ve just been for our anniversary, it’s our first time visiting and we loved it, high quality ingredients, lovely service we’ll definitely be back
