I booked a room with Londonist at Vita Lewisham and before checking in they let me choose a free gift, but after I picked it they told me it was delivered even though reception confirmed it was never received. I’ve reported this around three times over the past month and they’ve completely ignored me every single time. They also had an offer saying if you pay in full before checking in you’d get a free tech gift like a VR set, and they ignored that too. These offers are basically catfish to get your money. Londonist only gives you attention until you’ve paid, after that they don’t care. Honestly the worst experience I’ve had with any accommodation company and I’d recommend booking directly through the accommodation itself because at least they’ll actually listen and fix issues instead of ignoring you.
Very bad journey with Londonist whom as if was waiting to close the sale of the room in Spitalfields for us, then fully ignored us when we tried to call them and get things fixed. They demanded payment every month and not quarterly, the room was very dirty overall
While they told us they did deep cleaning which was a joke, and when we complained further, they sent a cleaner with a piece of cloth and a broken vacuum.

Hi, My room was ready and clean on time, everything is good with londoniest. However, the problem is that the common areas aren´t clean. For example, the lift, halls, and the last floor where you can find the laundry and gym smell terrible and the hall are dirty.

Londonist is basically a dodgy run estate agency, they own no buildings. Look at their about us page before trusting them with your money!
I booked 2 weeks of accommodation for my girlfriend; when we arrived, the room wasn’t ready and the spare room wasn’t clean, the toilet looked like it had disintegrated !
With no where else to go we were forced to book somewhere else.
When we contacted the company:
-They had no alternative accommodation
-Refused a refund
-Stopped responding to messages when we were trying to sort things out.
I’ve had to instigate a charge back though VISA to try and get a refund.

Room seemed to barely have been cleaned before I got here, Londonist agent who I booked through ensured me he was holding a room for me in block B of my accommodation on the second floor but upon my arrival I was given a room in block A on floor one, did not receive my cashback/rewards for rebooking, hot water on my kitchen tap doesn’t work, and half the drawers won’t in the room won’t shut properly. Very dissatisfied with my choice to rebook with Londonist.
My experience with Londonist has been absolutely terrible and I strongly advise students to avoid them.
Their entire communication style is built on spamming and pressuring you into panic decisions. As a first-time student renter, I was told that everything would “sell out” and that I needed to sign immediately, even though I wanted to move in later. Out of fear, I signed a contract — only to find out later that there were in fact plenty of spare rooms available.
When I tried to change to another accommodation, their staff were again rude and manipulative, pressuring me to “decide right now” or pay more. Once I moved, I discovered that I was paying far more than students who booked directly with the accommodation — meaning Londonist simply profits from exploiting inexperienced students.
The service was also chaotic and unreliable. On the day I arrived, the accommodation couldn’t even find me in their system, despite my Londonist contract. I was effectively left homeless for the night. When I contacted Londonist urgently for help, they didn’t respond — yet when they want money, they constantly spam your phone and email. At the end of my tenancy, I was bombarded with repeated calls (even from different phone numbers) pushing me to extend my stay, despite me clearly saying no.
Overall, Londonist caused me three months of stress, manipulation, and financial loss. They use aggressive tactics that target inexperienced students, and their unprofessional communication style is both shady and exhausting. You never speak to the same agent twice, which makes the whole process even less trustworthy.
This was by far the worst experience I’ve had with housing. I would never recommend Londonist to anyone.
Terrible experience with Londonist at Drapery Place. We had booked two rooms for a month, but upon arrival they were not ready and, even worse, in unacceptable hygienic conditions: floors covered with hair and dust, dirty mirrors, and even used contact lenses stuck on the floor.
We immediately requested cleaning, but after more than 4 hours of waiting and endless back-and-forth from the staff (everyone kept saying it wasn’t their responsibility and to speak to someone else), the rooms were cleaned very hastily and unprofessionally. In the end, we had to clean them ourselves, despite having already paid for the initial cleaning service.
The shared kitchen was also in terrible condition: trash on the floor, flies, and overall very dirty.
Considering the very high prices, the service provided was extremely disappointing. I would not recommend this agency.

I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the appalling service from the UK letting agency Londonist, which has caused me both financial loss and frustration.
Initially, my agent explicitly promised that I did not need to remove my belongings from the room I was renewing the lease for. To ensure no mistakes, I even confirmed this with the front desk on the check-in day specified in the contract. However, when I returned the next day, I was shocked to find that some of my personal items had been thrown away—resulting in direct financial damage to me.
I reached out to my original sales agent via messages, sent emails to customer support, and also messaged staff in the customer support department. Despite multiple attempts, I have received zero responses from Londonist.
Without a doubt, Londonist is the worst letting agency I have ever encountered. I strongly warn anyone considering their services to stay away to avoid unnecessary trouble and losses.
Been almost 2 months since I left the place and I still haven’t received back my deposit. Used the customer services in any possible way and haven’t received an answer, yet. I’m starting to get frustrated.
My experience booking my room with Derin was great. He was very helpful as I was looking for a room in very short notice. He helped me book the exact room I wanted and was really quick to respond to my enquiries.
