Confusion central

The sign up process was confusing enough, then they quote you a price, you're billed a slightly different (higher, of course) price by your utility.
The last straw was that another energy supplier bought all of their customers, and all I got was a paper letter stating that. They did not even transfer my email or phone number with it... and it's unclear if my energy is still green or not. After more than 3 months, LifeEnergy's website doesn't even state that on their website. What are they hiding?

DO NOT ENROLL TO LIFE ENERGY

DO NOT ENROLL TO LIFE ENERGY, YOU WILL BE LEFT WITHOUT POWER BECAUSE THEY TRANSFERRED YOUR ACCOUNT TO DISCOUNT POWER AND DISCOUNT POWER DO NOT HAVE YOU IN THEIR SYSTEM.

I called LifeEnergy to do a transfer of service on August 7, 2019 to a new residence, a CSR from LifeEnergy told me that I was no longer their customer and my services had been transferred to Discount Power do to an agreement between LifeEnergy and Discount Power (but I did not request for my services to be transferred), for me to contact Discount Power to discuss my residential transfer.

The same day, I contacted Discount Power and was advised by one of their CSR that they had no information regarding my account and I was not in their system. Needless to say both energy companies close at 5pm (including customer service). By the time, I tried to contact LifeEnergy customer services where closed. I called LifeEnergy several times to ask about my services (I do not have power at the moment, and Houston's weather is currently 100 degrees due to someone's negligence), and apparently, LifeEnergy cannot do anything because I am not their customer anymore, and I have to deal directly with Discount Power.

Now I have to do a "move-in" instead of a transfer, in addition, Discount Power wants to do a credit check, provide my social, and pay an additional deposit. I do not mind the credit check, but to pay an additional deposit, where I paid LifeEngery one.

I am a single mother of two, trying to make ends meet, for some of you $150.00 is not a lot and maybe think I am making a big deal, but for the rest of who live paycheck by paycheck, it's a big deal. $150.00 I can use to buy food, and school supplies for my kids.

This company is out of integrity

Don’t let your contract expire and go month to month. While in contact my bill was around $175 a month. Then once out of contract it skyrocketed to $709 with an almost quadrupled rate. Who has that kind of money? I was not in contract any more so Life Energy can legally do whatever they want. However why would you do business with anyone out of integrity like them. I hope this review helps the next person from being taken hostage by Life Energy like me.

Avoid at all costs.

Avoid at all costs.

Signed up for a plan with a $50 bonus every 3 months. I qualified for it, it's currently month SIX and I haven't received a single one. Every time I call their customer service I have to spend an hour on hold talking with them while they assure me I'm "going to receive the bonus within a week" and it's been 3 months.

Not satisfied at all

Not satisfied at all. The sales pitch compared the current rate with the rate they gave me and said their rate was much lower. So far I lost $11 the first month and $24 the second month. This will have to be cancelled since their rate is guaranteed for the period. Seems to me that was a mistake to accept a higher rate that would never be adjusted.

Donald - thank you for the candid feedback. Unlike the utility the price is fixed. We do agree with you that we may not always be the lowest provider. We have identified your account and a member of our team will be following up with you.
