I love Lick paint. I used Pink 02 for my hall, amazing coverage and wonderful quality accessories too. Currently I am waiting for two blues for my bathroom but customs are sitting on it at the moment,... See more

Really disappointed and wasted a lot of money and time
So disappointed! I’ve bought matt emulsion Lick in the past, loved the colour and was happy with the finish so decided to try them again - an eggshell for a bathroom re-paint this time. We weren’t sure what type of paint thr previous home owners had used so sanded down and did 2 coats of primer. Well, the coverage is totally dreadful. We’ve done a small patch and we’re now on 3 coats and you can still see the white through (a lot). Also we ordered via B&Q and the first time Lick sent Matt emulsion instead of eggshell so it had to be refunded and I had to order again. The paint is also in an emulsion tin with emulsion instructions. Should’ve stuck with Dulux. Really disappointed and wasted a lot of money and time.

Inconsistency in colour
Bought 3 tins of the same paint, same colour, same finish, however once on the walls there is a vast difference in colour. The first two tins a lovely warm finish, the second tin much lighter in colour and colder. They offered to send me new tins but means painting my whole wall again. Never had this issue with other brands before. Seems Lick paint cannot get their consistency in colour right! They will tell you to box paint all together but then that changes the colour altogether and is different to the sample sticker provided by lick.

Great quality & service
Ordered online & paint arrived promptly, as promised. Ready for our decorators. The quality is great and the colour exactly as we wanted, maybe even better as it deepens as light fades by the window. Would definitely order Lick paints again

A Great Matt Finish Paint
Really easy to order and the paint is excellent providing an ultra flat matt. Goes on well with brush or roller and dries to touch dry with great coverage. If you over order returns are handled really well too. Highly recommended.

Needs some research before use
Needs some research before use.
Bought Matt brilliant white believing 1 coat would be ok.
Wished I’d watered it down now for the 1st coat it’s very thick and i can see brush strokes which is irritating.
I’m going to have to wall paper now. Needs lots of prep and I’d recommend watering down the 1st coat.

waste of money
I had used Lick before for some rooms in our flat. We loved the colour so much that we went for the same one for one of the remaining rooms, plus giving the previous room a refresh.
I had an unopened tin from my previous order and bough 2 new ones. To our surprise the same colour number is now a very different shade. Tin 1 (older one) had a lovely warm shade. Tin 2 and 3 now are just pure grey, almost blue.
It all has resulted in mess, waste and frustation, so I have had to buy from a different brand.
Such a waste of time and money.

Moved house many times over the years and have bought paint from all budget amount and colour story and Lick is the best I’ve used. For the most part I’ve only need one decent coat and has dried quick should I need to do a second. Aside form the colour selection my favourite thing is how there is no smell!! I used another brand alongside this on day one of the move and the room I used Lick in didn’t pong compared to the other. Genuinely will not use any other brand of paint now - only wish now is they make more colours.

Been a decorator for 35yrs and I've just used lick paint for the first time . It was the customer's choice i was surprised how far it covered especially on new plaster and only applying 2 coats without a mist coat . I would recommend using this again or even consider using it in my own home. I also picked up a 2 inch synthetic brush and happy how it flowed with the soft touch bristles. Highly recommend this brand .

Amazing advice and paints!
We used the colour consult in home service and were given incredibly thoughtful and considered advice by Lulu on the perfect colour palate for our home. We're so happy with the results - both in terms of the colours used, but also the quality of the supreme paint - the walls look gorgeous! We'll definitely continue to use Lick paint moving forward as we continue our renovation plans

Just spent 20mins in the store in Northcote Road - fabulous COLOURS - but also amazingly helpful staff, right level of listening skills as well as knowledge! Respect there decision to save environment and NOT simply hand out a tiny "colour chart" - but left the shop after much pondering and advice with about 10 of their gorgeous subtle sample colours - about 20cm square - to stick on the walls at home! Re-positional samples, no mess, what's not to like!

She encouraged me to be a bit daring and I am so glad I did. The living room is Pink 02 walls and Red 03 ceiling and I LOVE IT!! Ive had so many compliments too. Thank you Team Lick and Lulu.

Great colours but otherwise disappointing
After using lick paint once before on my son’s bedroom I was confident to use again for our en-suite bathroom and bedroom but am really disappointed. The paint does go on nicely but that’s about the only good thing.
After purchased eggshell and flat Matt from B&Q I’ve found the performance of both really poor.
I have used the eggshell for doors and woodwork but even after 3 coats the white is still showing through and the paint easily peels off requiring several touch ups after only 4 weeks.
Even after trying again with a base primer (which I have never had to do before with other brands) it still chips and peels.
I used flat mat on the bathroom walls which the website said was suitable. We left to dry a decent amount of time and didn’t use the bathroom for a few days once dry and within a few weeks the walls have water drip marks which looks awful.
I love the colours Lick offer but wouldn’t recommend for anything except basic walls and won’t use them again sadly.

3 pots of white 03 all different shades
Purchased 3 x 2.5 litre tins of white 03 in total.
First tin went on and had a green tinge to it, quite different to the sample but I liked it a lot. It also went on beautifully.
2nd tin totally different shade being a creamy white. Returned to B&Q who confirmed different colours and exchanged for another pot.
Re-did room but new pot is a different shade again, basically harsh white.
So I've reverted to Dulux and wish I'd saved myself time and money by not trying a new brand.

Decided to give lick a go
Decided to try lick for a a good coverage but after spending almost £150 on the stuff I’m absolutely fuming. The Mat 01 greige stinks worse than any paint I’ve used and after 4 coats it still looks patchy I wish I’d used a cheap emulsion because the walls have had basic emulsion every year for 40 years and never in all that time experienced such awful results

Great whites but too much waste
Pros
- best selection of white paints particular ly white 02 and 06 are lovely shades
- goes on easily with good coverage
- cleans well
Cons
- so much wasted paint! The smallest tins are 2.5lr which is far too big if you just want to do one wall or a small area. I need to touch up my bathroom where I’ve had to change a radiator and think it’s silly to buy an entire tin for a few brush strokes. I don’t think this company can call themselves “eco” and no idea how they got B corp status as I have so much wasted paint from tins that are too big.
- sticker samples are not always true to colour of the paint. I bought taupe 03 as I loved the sticker sample but the actual colour on the wall is a baby pink.

Avoid at all costs
Avoid at all costs. I bought 2 x 5 L tins of Beige 02 and I really regret doing so. After painting the walls and they fully dried, the moment I accidentally touched the wall with clean hands, the wall stained and a fingerprint showed on the wall. I tried wiping it off since the brand says it “DURABLE & WIPEABLE” and this removed the paint and it created a bigger patch!!! Horrendous company. I even tried to touch it up with further paint and this did not blend in. On the contrary it left a patch on the wall and in order to fix it you have you paint the full wall again ! Avoid buying this paint !
