I recently completed my Project Management Traineeship with IT Career Switch, and I wanted to take a moment to thank my advisor, Lana, for her incredible support throughout the programme.

From the very beginning, Lana was approachable, encouraging, and always quick to respond whenever I had questions or needed guidance. Her clear communication and genuine willingness to help made a huge difference in keeping me on track and confident in my progress.

I’d highly recommend Lana to anyone starting their project management journey — she truly helps make the experience positive and motivating.

I originally paid for my NEBOSH exam directly, not realising that I had already been registered through IT Career Switch. Instead of ignoring it, their team contacted me proactively to let me know about the duplication and helped arrange a refund straight away.

I really appreciate their honesty and professionalism, especially Beverley who handled everything promptly and politely. It is rare to see a company act so responsibly. Highly recommended.

My tutor Odi has been excellent! I am doing the Data Analysis course and she has always replied promptly with exactly the answers I need, and made sure I am doing everything correctly to stay on track.

I spent some money but lost all of it.

I’ll start with the only positive point: the refund policy is real.
If you complete all modules and projects within one year from enrollment, and after 12 weeks of job searching you still don’t find a job, they do issue a refund.
I’ve finished the course without landing a job, but at least I’ve learned a bit more than when I started.

That said, the rest of the experience was honestly disappointing.

From the very beginning, the introductory courses on programming languages felt outdated and repetitive. They are repeated again in the second stage for no clear reason, it just seems like a way to waste time.
In the beginning, you get some minimal support from a tutor, but this quickly fades away as the course progresses.

During the second stage, which is the longest part, you study on an external platform, Codecademy. The amount of languages you’re asked to learn is huge and completely disproportionate to what you’ll actually use later. You go through all of these courses: Full-Stack Engineer Career Path (the longest), Bootstrap, C#, Java, JQuery, PHP, Python. I thought it will be useful for the final projects, but in the third stage you end up using only HTML, CSS, JavaScript, MySQL, JQuery, some APIs and PHP.
It really gives the impression that the excessive workload is there just to make it harder to reach the one-year mark. It’s simply impossible to properly learn all those languages in just a few months.

When it came to the project phase, I felt completely on my own.
Paddy clearly knows the subject well, but the final project reviews were difficult to follow, partly because of his teaching style, and partly because the reviews were done over the phone instead of using proper tools like Zoom. Honestly, this feels quite outdated for 2025. Also, I often noticed some contradictions between the project instructions and what the instructor actually expected, delaying the delivery of the projects.

After completing everything within the year, I moved on to the recruiting phase.
Belinda was genuinely kind and supportive, and I really appreciated our weekly calls. However, apart from a new CV and a few emails with links to job boards like Indeed, I didn’t receive much additional help with actual job placement.

Overall, I’m surprised by the large number of positive reviews I’ve seen online.
In my case, I was asked to leave a review right after finishing stage 2, when I still had some minimal tutor support, which might explain why so many reviews sound a lot more positive than the full experience actually is.

I had an outstanding experience with IT Career Switch.

My Recruitment Mentor, Sarah-Jane Stewart, was incredibly supportive and proactive throughout the entire process. When a previous opportunity turned out to be unstable, Sarah-Jane immediately resumed recruitment assistance and quickly found me a perfect match.

She secured an interview for the IT Trainee/1st Line Engineer position with FORM IT Solutions. Even when a specific communication challenge arose during the hiring process, Sarah-Jane helped me navigate it professionally, resulting in a successful job offer!

The guidance, support, and general helpfulness have been present from the first introduction. Beverly, Matt, and Lama are superb and always present to answer any queries, doubts or concerns I might be having. I'm taking the Health Safety course, presently - so far so good. This is giving me the opportunity to change careers, something I've been wanting to do for a very long time, but didn't know how. Special thanks to Dean who also responded to all my queries and gave me extension when I had my baby in between. I’m more than proud to be tutored by Mike as well. I passed my prince 2 and agile PM exams and I’m already getting interviews after adding my experience to my cv.

Mike is a great tutor! Very knowledgeable, patient, and encouraging. I’ve learned so much and feel more confident thanks to your help. I started with traineeship back in October 2025 because i needed a career change.

Dean did a great job, sorted out my issues

Really enjoyed being able to do the course at my own pace. Enjoyed the format of watching the videos whilst also having matching notes to refer back to.

Hmm. it wasn't easy but it was worth it, after several videos I finally completed the training and the 2 live scenarios, The videos were educative and the customer care were on point attending to your needs. I could tell Lana smiles a lot and she's very resourceful helped me along the way whenever i called. My Tutor Mike Ngwenya was great, easy going and was helpful during my live Scenario. Great user friendly software, easy to Navigate. thanks guys.
