One star is being generous, steer clear of AKKO!!!
Avoid this bs company like the plague. They will pull out all the stops to avoid honoring your claim. I have two policies with them that cover each device for the entire year. Unfortunately I had to file a claim on each. The first one was a loss where I dropped the phone into the river attempting to get into a fishing boat. I supplied everything requested in their laundry list of documents/photos/logs/screenshots etc. Nope—claim denied I was a day or two outside their 30 days before you can make a claim. Their response was “you’re gonna have to buy another 16 pro max 1TB on your own and try again.” As if i had $1600 bucks laying around. The 30 day verbiage is not mentioned when purchasing the policy but it’s like who chooses when a mishap occurs? Anyway next one was damage to the back of my 15 pro. When I originally registered the device the photos were approved showing its new condition. I gifted the phone to my cousin and he accidentally cracked the phone. I told him that he could get it fixed as it was insured by these people. Well since I formatted the phone for the new owner he had to reregister the phone with the AKKO app but now the phone had damage and his photos were rejected and claim denied. So now I have two policies which have no devices attached to them and no concern or solution for its paying customers. AppleCare is your best bet for a seamless no argument or back and forth with a rude agent via email. One star is being generous.

My case wasn’t a regular one — when the claim was approved, I was out of the country. I asked the representative to hold the exchange until I returned, and she kindly did so. Upon my arrival, I received the payment without any issue. As usual, Akko responded promptly and professionally. Highly recommended!

Horrible Service
They took my money but failed to communicate with me properly. No phone support to call. I've requested to cancel the service but we'll see if they actually do. Can i give a star NEGATIVE review??? If they don't promptly refund my $24.95, I will give as many bad reviews as I can, anywhere I have the option. I will also be calling my bank soon if I don't get a prompt refund.

Opaque policies
My experience began positive for my first claim. Since then the customer service has been condescending patronizing and generally unhelpful. They will ask a series of leading questions to ensure they can deny your claim. They do not make it obvious what they do or don't cover. I would suggest avoiding them or dropping them after your first claim.

I lost my phone recently and filed a claim with AKKO. The process was simple, and I had a replacement in my hands much quicker than I expected. The communication was clear, and I didn’t feel like I was jumping through hoops like with other insurance companies. Definitely worth it for peace of mind.

Everyone that touched base with me from the Akko team was truly wonderful and made the claims experience much more palatable than it otherwise could have been. Easy communication. It took 24hrs for response. Due to having photos uploaded prior to inner screen malfunction, authorized refund.
Make sure send in estimates and receipts on a timely fashion. Refund turnaround was 12hrs.
