Working as expected, why I'm hearing this just now, missed too many bundles.. The only negative is that most of the games won't actually increase your Steam games owned count.

One star is too much

One star is too much. As others already mentioned in other reviews, they deleted my account with hundreds of unused keys. Their support replied saying they delete accounts after one year of inactivity even with unused keys due to "storage costs". They also said they send at least three email alerts before account deletion, but I have all their emails archived up to July 24th (when they stopped), and they absolutely never sent any email alert about account inactivity deletion.

Accused of being a liar by customer support

I bought a bundle of games from DailyIndieGame, which had a game in it, that I already owned. Later I found out the key for this game was already redeemed and contacted support. Two days went by with no answer from support. Today I contacted support again and finally got an answer, which was far from what I expected. The support agent wrote, that no one has reported any issues with that key and that they have sold hundreds of copies of this game. I explained to the support agent, that I traded the key away to a friend, who couldn't redeem it and got the following answer; 'Your friends is lying. As mentioned, we have sold hundreds of copies of this game, and nobody, except your „friend” reported any issues'. I wrote, that he should try to be a bit more professional and that this isn't how customers should be treated. He then wrote, that 'professionalism is not giving free keys to your friends that lie'. This must be the worst customer support, that I have ever experienced. I even sent a screenshot from my Steam account showing the purchase of that game long before buying it from DailyIndieGame, so the person from customer support who was writing me could believe me. The reason why I wrote 'this person' is because, this person never wrote his name in any of the emails, that I received.

If I could give this company 0 stars I wouldn't hesitate on doing it.

The trashiest Steam key seller on the internet

The web site has two main sections where they sell Steam keys: one under the heading Discount Steam Keys, and another under the heading Marketplace. Marketplace is called Games Store List on the main page. Two different names for the same thing? Warning sign. Also, the Marketplace page is just one megapage with all of the listings and no sorting capability. It offers the option to hide the games you already have in your Steam account if you enter your Steam ID in the profile section, but the functionality doesn't actually work. More warning signs.

You might be lured in by their low prices, especially in the Marketplace section, and decide to buy something. The first thing you'll discover is that you can't just put things into a cart and check out, like in every other store. No, you have to add funds to your DIG wallet in minimum increments of $5 USD. Once your money's in the wallet, it's called DIG points (1 DIG point = 1 cent). For some reason, you can have a fraction of a DIG point, and your point balance is displayed rounded up. So, if you try to buy something with your exact remaining balance, you might discover you're actually a cent short, even though it shows that you have enough. More warning signs.

Now, you might wonder why the store has two different sections where you can buy Steam keys. You might also wonder why the Marketplace megapage has many of the same games at different price points. This is because in the Marketplace page, you're actually buying keys from other users (google "introducing the dig marketplace" to find their announcement). And apparently, the keys can come from anywhere, i.e. anyone can enter any key. The problem is, though, that the DIG website doesn't tell you this anywhere. As far as warning signs go, this one is massive.

A predictable consequence of the fact that you're actually buying Steam keys from other users is that those keys can be used. And this does happen. In the ~150 purchases I made on the web site, 3 of the keys were used. After I reported the first 2 keys as being used, I got back an email saying my report was suspicious because no one else reported any problems. After I reported the third key as being used, the response I got was "Not one single report of a key being used", "Please discontinue using our store", and "We are not in the business of giving out free keys". This, after I spent more than $30 USD (and even kept topping up my DIG wallet after my first report, trusting they'll act professionally and make it right by refunding me for the used key). Apparently, the people at DIG are more inclined to believe that paying customers are liars than that there are people who will try to sell used keys on their website. And BTW, their claim that no one else has reported receiving used keys is clearly false; google "dig customer support claims im trying to scam them" to find a discussion of this, or simply look at some of the other reviews here.

Finally, when you look at their About page, the only thing they say about themselves is "DailyIndieGame is owned and operated by DailyIndieGame LLC". No address, not even a country. When a business trying to sell you something won't even give you their address, that's a huge warning sign.

I was stupid and ignored all the warning signs. Don't be stupid like me.

Good Site, Horrible Support

The site is good to get some little game at a nice price but the site support is simply one of the wrost i have ever faced.

Also, NEVER mark a key as used in yu're account, it will disappear forever after a pair of daya.

They erased my account - Lost all my keys

They erased my account so I can’t access my unused keys when I hadn’t logged in for a year. Excuse was storage cost. I work in IT so I know this is BS. They probably wanted an excuse to sell my keys a second time. Shady tactics. Do NOT support them.

Zero customer support these days

Used them for years without much problem. Got extensive support a few years ago with bad keys. This time (end of 2020)? No response at all. Live and learn: done with them.

edit: Oh yeah, they deleted all my info because of the dormant period as well. Garbage tactic.

My favourite online $2 shop

I've joined a few years ago. At first I wasn't really keen on their wallet system, but they are up front and there isn't any fine print with dailyindiegames.com. Everything I needed to know was clearly spelt out. A refreshing change from all the fine print that is usually encountered when a deal seems too good to be true.

At first I wasn't keen on their wallet system, but now I totally get it and love it because it saves me having to pull out my credit card most times I make a purchase. Most of the purchases I make are extreme bargains - often less than a dollar. Microtransactions - which is why they have a wallet system.

I've topped up my wallet a few times and not had any issues apart from my very first deposit - which was totally my own fault because I didn't follow the instructions. Support had it sorted within half an hour and it was all good.

Sometimes I buy something and think "Hey I know others who would like this", so I go back and buy a few extra keys and it is no hassle. Extra keys are sometimes charged at a slightly higher rate, but I'm fine with that as it is up front and absolutely clear at the time of purchase. Some sites offer great deals, but then limit your purchase to one or two keys. I often like to buy three keys, so I really love this aspect of indiegames.com.

The site peaked a couple of years ago…

The site peaked a couple of years ago when peer-to-peer key trading was done openly. There were of course issues with legitimate keys, but I feel the site was much more active back then and had a much greater quality selection, even if there was that risk.

The quality of bundles has also gone down considerably over the past few years.

Loyal customers until we had to use the support system

Our family has been using their services for almost a year now and as loyal customers we've bought over 50 games, but then I made the mistake of using the support system and realized they simply don't care.

I've bought a bundle for me and my daugther, she wanted a few games from it and I wanted some other ones. After we used all of our keys, I realized that I accidentally activated a key on my account when it was meant for my daugther.

She told me that it was possible for key retailers to invalid the key I used (meaning the game would be automatically removed from my account) and they could just generate a new one for our purchase.

So I send in a ticket, asking them if they could invalid the one key and generate a new one for it. This was the first ticket I've ever sent in. As a response we've been told that it's our fault the key is invalid (well, duh) and that if we wanted to have a new key we should buy the bundle again.

You can generate thousands of keys for one game instantly, but you can't take the time to read my ticket, disable my old key and generate one single one for me? Is that really something you can't even do once for your customers? It's not like we asked for anything beforehand.

I really don't think we're asking too much from a digital key retailer.
