Avoid this company at all costs
AWD-IT is by far the worst company I’ve ever dealt with. I would give 0 stars if it were an option.
I purchased a PC for my son from them in February 2025, paying a total of £1,400.
We experienced problems with the PC from the very beginning. Despite Windows already being installed, the “Activate Windows” message kept appearing in the bottom right corner. The watermark would disappear after each crash and reload, but the problem always returned. Every time we contacted AWD-IT, they gave instructions over the phone, yet the issues were never resolved and only continued to worsen.
The most alarming issue occurred at the end of August when we discovered a large folder that had been created on the PC on 1st April 2024 (well before we made the purchase), containing 278GB of data under a name we don’t recognise and included another folder referencing a place we have never visited. Also, when we tried to open the folder, we received the message “You don’t currently have permission to access this folder”
We contacted AWD-IT to inform them about the discovery of the folder. They said we might have downloaded the folder while installing Windows, but that is absolute nonsense. As,
Firstly, a fresh Windows installation only requires a few GB of updates at most, never hundreds.
Secondly, the PC was already supplied with Windows 11, so there was no installation taking place in the first place.
I would say they were cooperative up until we returned the PC for inspection. Once AWD-IT received our PC back, they blamed everything on us.
They said the PC is dusty inside, which is the reason the PC is not performing well. But I'm sure a dust won't create a 278 GB folder.
Also, the RAM broke a few months after we purchased the PC, and we purchased another RAM, but obviously, we didn't send the new RAM back with the PC, we sent the RAM which was broken. The company clearly focused on the broken RAM and did not even address the real issue, which was, in this case, the "mysterious folder"
Once they addressed that folder, they accused us of creating it, which makes no sense whatsoever.
Why would we create a folder under a name we are not even familiar with?
Why would we create a folder with a place we have never visited?
And why would we create a folder 10 months before our purchase of the PC?
If we had created that folder, surely, we would have had access to it and not been blocked from accessing it.
Even more suspiciously, once AWD-IT received the PC, they completely wiped the folder. If it had been created by us, why delete it? Why did they touch it in the first place? Now the folder is showing 0 bytes.
AWD-IT has made every possible excuse to avoid taking responsibility. After facing multiple issues with the PC, we did some research and discovered that other reputable PC retailers offer the same or even better systems for much less. This company’s PCs are severely overpriced for what they offer.
This is an honest review written to warn others who may be thinking of buying from AWD-IT. I strongly advise against it unless you want a refurbished PC sold to you as brand new. Please take the time to read the negative reviews they’re from real customers with real bad experiences. I deeply regret ever purchasing from this company.
