Review of Jackson's Art Supplies

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Reliable pro grade supplier with thoughtful details

I manage procurement for a small art school and paint professionally, so I buy a lot of materials and see how they perform over time. Over the years I have ordered everything from jackson’s artist oil and Professional watercolour to Pan pastels and papers like arches, fabriano, and stonehenge. I am picky about pigment codes, binder types, and lightfastness, and I test swatches against manufacturer data. I also pay attention to logistics because students break tubes and bend sheets if packaging is weak.

Jackson’s art supplies stands out for details you might miss at first glance, like product pages that list pigment numbers, lightfastness, and granulation notes with swatches that match in hand under neutral light (which is rare for retailer charts). Packaging is genuinely protective, with fragile full size sheets arriving in rigid packs and tubes taped and capped so they do not leak or dent, and solvents and glass items are separated and labeled properly. Their colour charts are the most trustworthy online I have used and my hand swatches of Daniel smith and Winsor & newton matched closely to their charts. When I ordered the wrong size Jackson’s icon brush, the return was easy and quick, and they replaced a dented tin without fuss. Shipping costs to EU and US have been fair and dispatch is fast, plus they occasionally tuck in samples like paper offcuts or dot cards for new ranges. Prices are competitive across house lines and branded items, and their email advice on selecting a Procryl versus a Raphael or Da vinci brush has been clear and practical. Based on consistent service and reliable information, I recommend them to both beginners and pros.
