I purchased a pair of Mizuno running…

I purchased a pair of Mizuno running shoes for nearly 1000 DKK. After only 5 months of use, a hole developed in the front of the shoe. I contacted Kaiser by email, and they asked me to visit their shop so they could take a closer look. However, when I went there, the staff member barely inspected the shoes for a few seconds before dismissing my complaint, saying it was likely my fault, possibly caused by my nails.

I explained that I have never had this issue with other running shoes, and I always keep my nails trimmed, so this reasoning made no sense. For the price I paid, I expected much better durability and customer service.

My point is if you can’t solve the issue for your brand and all you can do is to put all the obligation on customers nails there is no point of buying from you. You all can get same product from different shop in less price. At least you will get better customer service.

At Kaiser Sport & Ortopædi, we take all product inquiries and complaints seriously and normally go a long way to help our customers find a good solution. In this specific case, the issue you describe is something we occasionally see with certain models that use very thin and lightweight upper materials. These can, over time, wear from the inside or the outside — which unfortunately is considered normal wear rather than a product defect.

There can be several reasons for such wear — sometimes related to toe shape, pressure from the forefoot, or even small friction points inside the shoe. A simple way to prevent or minimize this in the future is by using a “toe protector,” which I’m sorry to hear you were not introduced to during your visit.

When shopping with us, our goal is to provide professional guidance and service to help each runner find the right shoe — rather than to promise that shoes will last longer than what is normal for running footwear.
