Been using CCleaner for a number of year with out a problem. But when I tried using CCleaner driver and software updates. Some have cause problems, like one time a driver update locked me out of windows and I had to use windows usb media creation tool to run a older restore point to get it working again. Good thing I did not have to do a reinstall of windows. I don't believe its any kind of malware and more of a configuration error in the driver. I would stick with updates from windows and direct from software companies. Some times CCleaner has new windows updates before windows update provide them automatically?
