Review of Gusto

Rated 2 out of 5 stars

Very, Very basic payroll service and not much else

Does not support Portland Metro taxes. State tax setup not completed correctly. Support is not well trained and takes too long to resolve issues. They basically just refer you to support articles rather than helping implement anything such as Offer Letters or Annual Reviews. Reporting is very basic and does not support many needs.

Hello Rick,

Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We are sorry to hear that you have faced frustrations with setup and support. Your feedback is important and helps us improve.

To clarify one of the points you mentioned, Gusto does support the Portland Metro “Supportive Housing Services Program Tax.” For employees who work within the Portland Metro boundaries, we provide the option to complete the county’s required Opt In/Opt Out form directly in Gusto. Once the election is made, Gusto will withhold and file the tax appropriately with Portland Revenue Online. For employees who earn over $200,000 annually, the tax is withheld automatically unless they have opted out.

We also want to make sure you feel supported beyond help articles. If you are still having trouble with setup items like state taxes, offer letters, or reporting needs, please reach out again so our team can work with you more directly. We take your concerns seriously and want to ensure you get the value and service you expect from Gusto.
