What the hell, Royal Bank.
We moved to Germany from Toronto 17 years ago. Kept an account with Royal (which we use when we're in Canada for visits), and have been drawing funds from it from time to time over those years without trouble...until now.
The entire online system is suddenly different and doesn't function properly. Spent an hour on the phone yesterday with a rep who was absolutely incompetent; nothing has been solved and we can't get into our account.
Our branch was at Spadina and Huron. Lovely people, excellent service! They were closed down a few years back. Don't know what the bank is playing at...well actually, I do...they're sitting on our money, hiring a skeletal and sub-standard staff, and basically not giving a shit.
We will be removing our (admittedly not huge) funds from Royal Bank and set up an account at another bank in Canada. This is just beyond the pale. I am trying so hard not to google how much the upper echelons at Royal make each year in bonuses...save me blowing a gasket.
