Good value for the price, but the “hourly” billing is a bit misleading. Shutting down the instance doesn’t reduce the cost, you’re charged the same as when it’s running, so the “hourly” label feels pointless. It’d be much better if billing were based on actual resource usage.

Hi Ruri,
Thank you for sharing your feedback - we really appreciate it.
It is a common industry standard that hourly billed VMs continue to incur charges even when shut down. This is because the underlying dedicated resources (such as disk storage, memory, and IP addresses) remain reserved exclusively for you. We note this on the VM management page for hourly billed instances.
The main advantage of hourly billing is flexibility - you can upgrade or downgrade resources at any time and only pay for the period your VM exists. If you would like to avoid charges while not using a VM, you can take advantage of our snapshot feature: save a copy of your VM, delete it, and then recreate it from the snapshot whenever needed with all your data intact.
