1 Star – Holding Basic DNS Access Hostage
I own a domain through CrazyDomains and was shocked to find out that I can’t add a simple TXT record unless I pay to upgrade to “Premium DNS.”
TXT records are standard and essential for verifying your domain with services like Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace, setting up email authentication (SPF, DKIM, DMARC), and more. The fact that I legally own the domain but can’t manage basic DNS functions unless I pay extra is ridiculous.
Almost every other domain registrar includes full DNS access — including TXT — by default. With CrazyDomains, it feels like they’re holding your DNS settings hostage behind a paywall, even though it’s a fundamental part of domain ownership.
Support was polite but unhelpful — the only solution was “pay more.”
I won’t be registering future domains here, and I’ll likely be transferring this one elsewhere.
